Then I guess I’m on the only SS member here watching them suck. Also surprised that the attendance is maybe a couple hundred people.

Anyone else at the Amerks game tonight?

I’m just saying, the question is ‘why didn’t he take a timeout / change goalies’ once it became 4-2. Those are my guesses. Once they gave up that 3 on 1, on a PP, and went down 3-2 - the team collectively seemed to have phoned it in. This became evident a handful of minutes later when the Sabres gave up 3 more goals in less than 3 minutes. The onus was on HCPH to do SOMETHING, and he did nothing other than switch around the lines. As a fan, I could sense the turn in the game. As the man on the bench and dealing with them daily, I have to assume his senses were far greater than mine. I’d surely hate to think he knew they were dead in the water, and did nothing other than hope for a learning experience.

My guesses are that Wowie either: A). Overtrusted in his group to come back in the game, regardless of the situation that was going on, or... B). Had resigned to the fact that his group was unlikely to come back in this one, and wanted to use it as a “learning experience.”

Don't let the unenergetic play of the Sabres distract you from the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon. -

For me it is was the mid 80’s Euhlers when i was little, the early 90’s Pens when I was a little older, and the Hasek late 90’s Sabres when I was a teen but understood the game better.

I wasn’t in that camp, but my guess is fans saw Myers’ size and envisioned a power forward. Probably similar to how everyone salivated from every potential bodily orafice when Kassian was drafted. Then there is was the Joe Finley experiment (or whatever his name was).
-
IIRC, there were Sabres fans wanting the team to try out Myers at wing a few different points in time.

Had no idea Grier was an assistant coach for NJD. Good for him, one of my faves.
