No entrants selected CBJ. 5/9 had TBL for the Cup.

It made me chuckle.

It is a good article, I had pulled quotes from it early on in this thread ?

Getting closer and closer to Gronborg.

I wonder if Vegas will let Gusev play in the playoffs.

Since it’s a only a wish-list... 1. Coach? - Scotty Bowman in his prime, with a young Don Cherry as an assistant 2. #2 center, how obtained? - We trade away Bogo, Scandella, Sobotka, Larsson, and Okposo to EDM for Connor McJesus 3. Jeff Skinner resigned? - Yes, 6 x 7 4. Risto back or traded? - Traded to TBL for Point and Hedman 5. Biggest UFA signing? - Bobrovsky

Updated Todd McLellan OUT of the Running Sabres HC Position
Andrew Amerk replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
This guy doesn’t have one of those cool little checkmarks next to his name, though. -
I like the floral back pack.

Ashton Kutcher can kiss my butt.

Good thing we picked up those final 4 points in the season and didn’t land 3rd worst, which would’ve landed us the top pick.

What is this garbage? I thought the lottery was at 8pm?

We need Kakko. We need as many players on our roster that fans can butcher the spellings of their names as possible.

Nylander, Olafsson, and Pilut back to the Amerks.

I sure hope so. -
What is it that Grönborg would need to learn? How to coach like the other NHL coaches?
-
-
“To me, the only challenge that would be left is the National Hockey League, to be perfectly honest,” said Grönborg. “I’ve kind of done all that stuff and coached some of the best players in the world. Now I’m interested to have my ideas, to [implement] them over a period of time and do them overseas, and kind of challenging the coaching community over in the NHL.” “When it comes to North American coaching, generally speaking, a coach comes to coach vs. just being a trainer, as we call it in Sweden [coach is translated as tränare in Swedish]. Go out and train the team,” said Grönborg. “Here it’s actually a coach and kind of plan how we utilize the players and give them job descriptions and whatnot. There’s different tweaks in the game situations instead of just kind of rotating four lines, which was very common back in Sweden.” “You’d rotate four lines until there was 10 minutes left and then go down to three lines and then you go down to two lines the last two minutes. …In Sweden, it was very common to have four very even lines.” He is a huge proponent of developing players and has seen success at a national level. A large part of the strength of the U-18, I-20 and National team for Sweden comes from Grönborg. He has helped develop a large number of NHL talents. They have won back to back golds at the world championship under Grönborg. Their U20 team has won two silver medals under him in three years and the U18 also won two silver medals in three years under Grönborg. Grönborg could bring something new and potentially gamebreaking to the Sabres and the NHL.

I’m not going to attempt to win anyone over on going with him, it’s just my personal preference. I’m not interested in NHL coaching retreads (Vignault, Boudreau, Tortorella, etc etc), AHL coaches with no NHL coaching experience (Taylor, Keefe), blasts from the past (Nolan, Ruff), or ex-Sabres (Boughner). It just seems time to think outside the box, which Grönborg fits. It’s not a matter of if he will become an NHL HC, but when. Teams were already kicking the tires prior to this season when there was a million HC openings, including the Sabres trying to bring him in on some capacity. His contract with Sweden is just ending.

Rikard Grönborg.

I actually think I’d prolly trust the decision with Sabre Tooth.
-
Who’s making the ultimate decision on this? Terry? Botts? Kim? Ted Black? LaFontaine? Beane? That guy we used to talk about with the mafia-sounding name?

Not as many as Michael Jackson.
