    Franson hasn't been doing that badly either, but I don't expect much from him also. Don't know if I'd want fedun over franson when bogo and kuli get back, but that we are all doubting says enough I guess.

    Oh yeah, captain is very much needed for moral , getting the guys going and being the first reference point for a referee on the field to talk to.

    The emotion he showed really worked up the crowd as well, I bet he has been frustrated seeing his team play the 21st games without him and level they were at. And now the bruins come to town, he will eat them up. I think he loves the sabres, is very happy to be here and wants to be in the playoffs this year. Also all the Matthews vs McDavid hype probably irked him a bit as well. Its like he wants to say, don't forget about me you wankers.

    Read somewhere Vanek actually wanted to come back to the sabres, but management declined him. Was for the same price he is playing in detroit right now. I know he is not liked but I would have taken that deal.

    Its weird though , Capgeek had bogo protected with an nmc, capfriendly says the nmc got waived in the trade.
