I think botterill just was with his back against the wall thanks to the pegula's wanting kane gone. Other GM's knew it and lowballed him, Hartman got chicago a 2018 1st round pick , Hanzal got a good haul last year. None of these players are better than kane. Also the prices for UFA rentals were steep last two years and the buyers remorse after was high.

Trades will explode after the games are over I think, but I need my beautysleep.

Ullmark/Enroth Guhle / Dhalin / RHD we get in Kane in trade. Oloffson / Mittelstadt / Baptiste / Asplund / CJ smith / Nylander This roster looks a lot like a colorado turnover. Edit: added Nylander because I think the injury hit him hard and is still recovering. I expect him to come flying out of the gates next year.
