  1. The point isn't about when they signed the contract, its that we had ROR under contract AND for fewer years to go. This millstone we just placed around our neck for the next decade will, I believe, damage the franchise, cost us salary flexibility and not make us much better. Again, I do hope I'm wrong
  2. Damn right I'm biased! Not at the players, but by history. We have been burned so often, this just looks like a repeat to me. Again, I hope I am wrong. But if this season goes bad, again, and Skinner scores 16 goals, JBott is gone
  3. I hope you are right, but I totally disagree. I'm expecting a big fall off in production from Skinner.
  4. Under. I'm seeing the next Drew Stafford here. He will have 16 goals next year, doesn't kill penalties, doesn't hit and is showing that having a good contract year works. I hope i am wrong, but I also hope it doesn't matter. The real solution will be finding the good young players coming into the organization. I feel JBott really felt the squeeze from the ROR unfolding disaster of a trade and couldn't let Skinner walk. Damn, ROR is cheaper by 2mill a year?!? Ouch again!
  5. How exciting it would/will be if Sabres were in this position to close out a team and win the cup! Must be some fun fun times in St Louis right now. Hope they get the job done tonight
  6. Krug is a pretty awesome player
  7. Yes!!! Oh boo hoo Boston
  8. Character looks like a liability out there
  9. Whoever wins game three of a series usually wins the series. That's still a thing, right? Use to seem like a lock, but after all the come backs from being down 3-1 in series the last decade, I'm not so sure.
  10. Well, I see this game is going to stink i was watching replay of game
  11. Without looking it up, who were the four Sabre defensemen hurt for that game
  12. Bruins look like a great team
  13. Seriously, he is still that 18 year old kid to me with big ears. I know that's not fair, but he just seems like one of the players, not the coach. That gravitas thing is real. This man seems more fitted to the job by his appearance, demeanor and confidence. Yes, that is kind of a superficial appraisement and might mean nothing, but there it is.
  14. It's like a real grown up is finally in charge
  15. I don't see how Botts can long survive in his job if he doesn't turn this ship around really quick. Especially if ROR is holding the Stanley Cup over his head in a few weeks. Another losing season should end his employment for us, I would imagine.
  16. Throw Brayden McNabb on that list!
  17. Maybe the Blues can beat the Bruins... They look like a very veteran team
  18. So this point is interesting. Jbott cant be blamed for that can he? And how important was Berglund leaving? Was it when he left that we got really bad and never recovered? Is there some relationship between him leaving and team going south? Maybe not that he made a big difference, but maybe something else happened that shook the team? Totally speculating of course. I just wonder if there is more to this story with this guy and the team.
  19. So what are the upsides still to the trade? Tage might still be good We saved money long term, I think? And that draft pick. So as bad as it looks now, it still might turn out in our favor long term. Who knows?!?
  20. In a Sabres uniform? He seems like the classic case of needing a change of scenery. Though a new coach might just be what....or not!
  21. Really? Well...it's not like he doesn't bring anything to the table, but he just doesn't have offensive talent.
