Yup, he is a goalie! -
Is there a Rasmus Dahlin Blockbuster trade to be had?
bob_sauve28 replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
Inkman? Come on man! We just need a good goalie, that gets us above sinking, then a few forwards that can score and we are rolling. Bad goaltending can make a team look terrible in the same way Hasek made that '99 team a SC finalist. -
Jonas Johansson Called Up/Ullmark out 3-4 Weeks

Hutton's GAA in next three weeks, over or under 5? -
Ok, but still, had Hutton stayed at the level, or even half the level, he was at the start of season, we would be either in or close to playoff spot. Hutton dropped off big time.

If Hutton had not crapped out big time, the season would be going fine. I think the core of the team is fine, we just need another goalie

No, it will be like soccer where you have to give it back. They will use the microchip to find it and arrest the person not surrendering the puck.

I just want to know how fast a player is skating, how fast a shot or pass was, etc. That will be interesting to know. When a goalie gives up a goal, I’d like to know how fast the shot was. If they can show quickness (0-60 mph) that would be cool. Just stuff like that.

This was from the article on diversity training in the news, whole article is interesting, but the chip thing is cool The wide-ranging, 30-minute press conference included a number of topics, including player and puck tracking. Each of the 16 playoff teams this season will have their arenas outfitted with the necessary technology in time for postseason play to begin. Additionally, Bettman announced Thursday that each of the 31 arenas will be fully operational in 2020-21. The NHL initially planned to roll out the technology last season, however, the league was forced to replace its technology partner in September. Microchips will be placed on player jerseys and inside game pucks with real-time data gathered by antennas inside each rink. The information will be displayed on television broadcasts, though the user will be able to decide whether he or she can choose their viewing experience. "It will be as a fan or viewer what you want it to be," Bettman said. "You’ll be able to watch the game as you always watched it traditionally if you want. There will be broadcast enhancements on the primary screen or secondary screen. There will be more data than ever before. https://buffalonews.com/2020/01/24/buffalo-sabres-national-hockey-league-gary-bettman-kim-pegula-nhl-news-2020/

He is valuable as an insurance policy. That's about it, but better to have insurance than not having any.

If I thought his subtraction would’ve an addition, I’d be right there with you. I’m not there yet. Defensemen, even below average ones, are pretty valuable. Scandella was a subtraction that led to an addition.
