  1. Maybe there’s something really strange about the guy, Pittsburgh gave him up for almost nothing
  2. I take it we do not have a young goaltender in the system ready to play in NHL? If we did I’d be happy to start with Hutton as number two and if he blows up again (likely, IMO) we could throw youngster in. Maybe we get a journeyman goalie, start him in Rochester and move him up as needed? Is cap space a big issue here?
  3. Good point, but it could also be luck. Drafting is a crap shoot That team will be shedding talent soon, I would guess. Look how deep they are on defense. Can't believe they can keep all those players, stars and such, and still stay under the cap.
  4. How does Tampa stay-under the cap? I mean they really didn’t even need Stamkos to win.
  5. The thought of Risto getting moved makes me nauseous But whatever is best for the team. They really have to have a good season, make the playoffs and hopefully win a series or two.
  6. I enjoyed watching the hand shake after and everyone getting along. Happy Victor Headman won MVP. Thought for a second they might pick Vasaleski(sic) I really enjoyed this yeas playoffs, from Tampa's super long game against Columbus to them knocking out the Bruins.
  7. Jacks sitting there watching these other teams playing and I bet that is frustrating. If we don’t make the playoffs next season I bet this gets turned up into a real thing. Turns out it’s not that easy recovering from a tank, and if we don’t figure it out this year the whole reason we tanked, to get Jack, might be gone with the wind.
  8. Hard to disagree, except I want our young defenseman playing, not making room for an older guy, unless maybe it’s around playoff time. Isn’t Steve Smith an assistant coach on this team? And no way do I want to lose Risto or Montour
  9. Brain surgery? Can you imagine a doctor telling you he is going to operate on you but he isn’t very knowledgeable in medicine, but he works really hard, so it’s ok. And he stayed at a Holiday Inn last night
  10. Sure, and a lot of people work their butts off for nothing because they have no skills. Me to, with you
  11. Hard work isn’t a skill. Lol
  12. Come on, hockey skills, not how hard they work personally. Point plays with an edge? He plays hard, but I don’t think he can be called edgy.
  13. They will figure it out. Hardly the most pressing need right now
  14. You can work as hard as you want but if you don’t have the skill it won’t matter.
  15. I’ve assumed since the trade that that is exactly why Staal was traded for. We have to get Skinner going
  16. Ya, because if he was tougher or whatever that would make him a decent NHL player 🤨
  17. At number 8 I’d have to say looking for work ethic and grit would probably not be at the top of my list. Does Braydon Pointe play with edge? I’d expect any player you pick at that point in the dr@ft had better have a work ethic. I’d be focused more on talent there.
  18. I’m ok with the D we had last year and not interested in trading any of them away.
  19. How about letting our solid young defense just play and become veterans defenseman? If it’s looking good for us entering playoffs then we pick up some vets.
  20. 5 goals in less than half a season on the team. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if while playing more he gets somewhere between 15-20 goals. Give him more responsibility and see if he rises to the occasion.
