  1. I love chess and play all the time on line. My dad never let me win. Just stomped my head into the ground every time. I'm glad he did. He passed away when I was just nine and I beat him once before he died, that's how I knew something was really wrong. Has your son played online? He will find great players to play against.
  2. Not that I would know, but I just don't see it. I just have not seen anything in him with talent, checking or skating to give me hope. But who knows?
  3. From wikipedia On April 5, 2012, the Detroit Red Wings signed Sheahan to a three-year, entry-level contract.[4] On April 7, 2012, he made his NHL debut for Detroit against the Chicago Blackhawks.[5] On January 11, 2014, Sheahan scored his first career NHL goal, against Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings. On July 1, 2014, the Detroit Red Wings signed Sheahan to a two-year, $1.9 million contract extension.[6] On June 16, 2016, the Red Wings signed Sheahan to another two-year contract extension.[7] On April 9, 2017, Sheahan scored his only two goals of the 2016–17 season during the final game at Joe Louis Arena, including the final goal in the arena's history. Sheahan had set a team record for the most games to start the season without a goal and he also set an NHL record as the only forward with at least 100 shots to start the season without a goal. On October 29, 2012, Sheahan was stopped by police in Grand Rapids, Michigan, after which a roadside test determined he was driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.30, nearly four times the legal limit. Sheahan was wearing a purple Teletubby costume and was carrying the ID of fellow Red Wings' prospect Brendan Smith when arrested. He told police he was carrying Smith's ID so he could get into bars, as he was underage at the time.[14] Sheahan pleaded guilty in Michigan's 61st District Court on December 13, 2012, to operating a car with a blood-alcohol level of 0.17 or higher. He was sentenced to one year probation and ordered to spend 49 hours on a work crew.[14] Sheahan had previously been arrested on alcohol-related charges when he was charged with public intoxication and consumption of alcohol by a minor in 2010 when he was a freshman at Notre Dame
  4. That was great! Thanks. Really interesting about the match ups with the Lightening. Hopefully Ullmark thinks he has something to prove. Just can't help getting the feeling they are growing into a real solid team from reading that.
  5. Would be nice to go see them live, but I guess that won't be an option.
  6. So how would you word the law that stops this? Would there be a commison to judge trades?
  7. Well, Ottawa just got a little better on the ice with the trade. I really like both those players. Not great, but good players
  8. With Krug gone and Chara getting older by the minute I could see the Bruins take a big step back, but they still have Tuka. which is a huge plus for them. I thought the Flyers could of won the cup last year. They looked really good. The Islanders will be good again, no doubt. Boring but good. Washington had to sign Conner Sheary, which makes me wonder about their depth but they still have a lot of firepower. Getting older, though. I have no idea about the Pens. The Rangers hopefully will still suck. The Devils Kruger better fix the PK, get the PP working and the goal tending can't suck. I do like our chances. Good competition is a good thing.
  9. Well, there goes our playoff hopes. Thanks a lot Kevin Adams!
  10. It would be funny if Hutton came in the first ten games and was lights out, we rocket to the top of the standings, and then they bench him and let Ullmark take it from there. Thanks for the boost, now rest those eyes!
  11. And if that happens on the way to a Stanley Cup win, the ROR trade will officially but up for a debate over who won the trade, lol.
  12. I can't think of any one thing he is great at that he can build upon.
  13. Would not surprise me if this guy gets into games this year for Sabres. If Hutton is a total dud then this is the second best goalie in the organization at this point
  14. Ya, I like our defense and the forwards we added more than make up for those lost. I think we have a solid team, good coaching now we just need to make sure goal tending can be as good as the other teams
  15. I do too, but with so many back to back games, the fact he could get injured again and that you simply have to have two good goalies makes me think we are going to waste this season if Hutton is not truly heeled. That guy they signed seems decent, i guess. Maybe one of the other teams goalies goes down and we pass them. Who knows
  16. With the way the season will be crammed together, we will have to have two goalies going, and if Ullmark gets injured again, god help us. I sure hope they are trying to find another NHL caliber goalie. In the division we are in we will sink real fast if Hutton is terrible again.
  17. I’m with ya. We had better sign or trade for another decent goaltender or we are sunk. Hutton might be good again, but counting on that happening is insane.
  18. Not if the goaltending situation isn't fixed right. If Hutton's eyes are good to go we are set. If not...
  19. Cozens nice and tough along the boards there
  20. Good competition makes us better. If we get good goaltending we should be able to compete.
