I feel bad for the younger guys who never got to see greatness in ring that was actually entertaining. You missed out on Tyson and on Evander. On Lennox and on Roy Jones Jr. The slugfests of Mickey Ward and Arturo Gatti. Tito and Vargas, Sugar Shane, De la O and the Executioner. Man, it was all so good once! And now it's gone. We are left with a counter punching, defense first technician who makes way too much money, is a scum bag and has weak smack talk.

I grew up in Rome, NY, where Francis Bellamy was raised and is buried. The pledge was taught to us with, what I think was probably even more pride behind it than just basic Patriotism. More of a sense of someone who lived in our town wrote it (even if he was living in Massachusetts when he actually wrote it (they left that part out of the teaching)). I don't have an issue with the pledge for this reason. I don't think kids really get it. My son is 11,they say the pledge. He doesn't really see any meaning in it. He's to young to really understand what pledging allegiance to something means. We stopped saying it after 6th grade. After that, how much do you really think about it? I think it's always been a bigger deal for the parents and the teachers. But hey, I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

Lindros is one of the biggest douche bags ever! But he was still great at hockey and I feel that he should definitely be in the Hall. I bought a pack of old hockey cards the other day and came up with a Lindros Rookie card. That brought me back. Man, hockey was awesome when I was seven. Go Sabres!

Over the past 3 days, my son, who has never shown an interest in baseball, has wanted to do nothing but play catch with me. It is by far the most rewarding part of my day. He's making my glove pop and he's not afraid of the ball anymore. It's frigging awesome watching him grow up.

Marcus Allen and John Riggins? Really? Allen has 144 career TDs. Riggins has 104. Fred Jackson has 37. Hall of Famers are often valuable their entire careers. That's why they're hall of Famers. Fred is getting old and slow and if he wasn't cut this year, it was definitely next year. Better a year too soon than a year too late.
