OK folks. Running, it's for horses. Seriously, running. My kid is running cross country this fall, his practices start next week, and just as a goof, I wanted to see how far I have regressed in the decade since my last triathlon. Well this ! 1 mile in 9 minutes and I'm one f'n foot in the grave! I can't blame anything but my lazy ass. The weather is nice, the route was flat. I just can't run anymore, evidently. I guess I need skates to be fast. And it's going to be very tough to swallow when my kid is better than me at a sport. Ah, Time: The undefeated champion.

Dear madam secretary, Do not engage Donald Trump on Twitter. You don't have the social media chops.

I just watched The Purge. The first one. What a stupid f'n movie. Holy hell. I'm actually angry about the 2 hours of my life that I've just lost. Just 2 hours of stupid people doing the dumbest thing possible in the most ridiculous situations!

What position are you trying out for?

To be fair, I live 5 hours away and in a different state. I don't read the Buffalo news, I don't even read the news in wilkes barre! And I don't click those links because I know someone will provide a summary in about 2 posts. I've heard Sullivan on wgr when I used to listen to that. He's annoying to listen to, I'm certain he'd be annoying to read.

Love the tree cover! We only get that in the country around here. In the city trees are few and far between. But I do have a mammoth maple right in front of my house. The next tree is 5 houses down.

Ya know that scene in Jaws where Hooper shows up to the Brody house with 2 bottles of wine and Martin pours a wine glass for his wife, one for Hooper and then fills a whole pint glass for himself...? Yep,im doing the tequila version of that. What a f'n day. F*** work. It's the weekend, thank Jesus H. Christ!

I work with a lot of people who hike, and others who are just frisbee chucking cheeba monkeys who think disk golf is a sport. :p That said, I never go out with any of them, I just go with my wife and kid(you're young, you've got time). But I do ask them for good spots to check out. I've gone twice in the last 2 weeks and now I'm moving on to fishing! Spent yesterday at the lake pulling out perch and sunnies. Then we went kayaking for an hour. Holy God, that was a workout....for me! Two freeloaders sitting in front of me while I worked my ass off rowing!(I'm mostly kidding, my wife rowed too) It was a lot of fun though. But it was 98 degrees and I'm still paying for it today.

As someone who might have known a guy who has had to turn themselves in to police before on a couple occasions, I can confirm, he never once got cuffed. -
Good for you, dude. Good luck with it.

Cool beans. The guy about 25 feet down from me was definitely fishing a heavier rig than I was today. Also he had a 7 foot rod(gigity) but his line made a much heavier kerplunk upon entering the water. His line also stayed tight and the current wasn't taking it hardly at all.

I figured.

Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania. Not a very strong current, but a slight one for sure. More weight eh? Alright. Susquehanna is only about 8 to 12 feet deep where I'm at right now. Should I be talking to the guys at the local tackle shop to see what the fish are biting on, or is that a good way to get sold stuff that I don't need?

Alright anglers! ubkev needs advice. I haven't fished in over 15 years. I always had my dad to set up my rig. Now, I'm dad and I'm pretty useless. I can tie a hook or lure on and put some spit shots on the line and that's about it! My fishing terminology is next to non existent. So far we will be fishing the river from shore. I think I should be fishing for walleye and bass. Any tips would be more than awesome. Went out for an hour and a half today, just to get the lines in the water. No bites. First time I've ever gone fishing and not caught a fish. I wasn't expecting much but still, very humbling!

Thanks bio! The flow rate is really low right now, so I could stand in the creek bed for a lot of pics. Next time I go, I'm going to wait for flood season! Oh, and go to more mountains! You're making me miss skiing!

The last time I bought pitchers they were $4 rolling rock at PJ Bottoms on Main St. But I'd sure love me some $1 Blue bottles!

Spent the weekend hiking. Photography thread if you'd like to see. Did about 2.5 miles on Saturday. Easy trail, but nice views. Yesterday was freaking brutal! 6 miles of beautiful trail, 24 waterfalls, 86 degrees and humid and the elevation changes of 100 feet or more, every 3 minutes! Up, down, up, down! no flat land or plateaus, ever!! The Strava app said we had over 1000 feet in elevation changes. I don't know if that's good, bad or accurate considering GPS service was lost several times, but it was a workout. And carrying a 30 pound pack was a bit of a chore. It was a lot of fun, but it definitely kicked my ass. We had a good time, got rained on a little(thank god!) and got some pretty breath taking views. The water levels are very low this year in our area, so we cant wait to go back when all the waterfalls are really pumping out water.
