1. Paper Boy 2. Dishwasher 3. Drug dealer (I delivered Rx's for a pharmacy, stocked shelves, and sanded and painted the owners gazebo, awesome gig) 4. Tanning Bed clerk/Landscaping (tanning bed sucked, landscaping was fun) 5. UB call center (Begging alumni for money. Sucked!!!) 6. Tennis instructor - private and group (awesome gig!) 7. And now I sell people dreams for cash. (and that's the end result of all the bright lights, comp trips, of all the champagne, and free hotel suites and all the broads and all the booze. It has all been arranged just for us to get your money.) ;)

I like Alex Rodriguez. Phenomenal ball player, and a bit of a weird guy. His life in the public eye has been very interesting and strange, to say the least. I'll miss him for sure. Yeah, he doesn't have it anymore, but the Yankees will not be anywhere near good for a bare minimum of 2 years and my money is on a few more than that. He should have been trotted out there every day and told to swing for the fence, he only needs 4 more, for sake! This feels sh!tty. Hal Steinbrenner....you are most definitely not your dad. Hell, he's not even his brother. Hal is a glorified account who knows exactly dick about baseball. It's all about the cost and getting under that luxury tax. One of the best players of my lifetime. I got to watch his entire career, so I'm thankful. His 40-40 season was awesome! He's 100% a Hall if Famer to me, so is Bonds. I don't think either of them ever get in, and that's a shame. They made baseball a whole lot of fun for a long time. His skills have long since gone. But I'll remember the good times.

I love the World Record line. I don't even care what the event is! Break records!
-
Yep, same here. I was around for like 85% of this stuff. Maybe it's their oldness that won't allow them to remember anything from farther back. Or maybe nothing interesting happened "way back when"

Good for you bio, and good luck! Homeownership is fun! Except for when it isn't.... :p

I mowed the lawn while listening to my Sony Walkman (yeah, the tape player was eventually replaced by the CD player, which has been replaced by a second generation ipod, which has been replaced by my phone. But still! Tunes while mowing the lawn!) I remember picking up the phone only to hear that awful digital shrieking then followed by my dad screaming "HANG UP THE PHONE I'M ON AMERICA ONLINE!"

And down goes Ragland Bills' Ryan 'very concerned' about Ragland after knee injury in practice http://www.thescore.com/news/1071573 (via http://thesco.re/theScore_app )

I've been meaning to reply to this. I get what you meant by your post, I was just being cheeky. The IOC is what's bad and needs to be done away with. The Olympics are wonderful! Athletes from all over, at the highest level of their sport, competing, not for money, but for the honor of it. It's great! I cling to the sappy ideals of the Olympics. Citius, Altius, Fortius: Faster, Higher, Stronger. The IOC thinks that they ARE the Olympics, and for now with all the crooked that they have been up to for however many decades, they actually might believe it's all about them. But for me, and my opinion probably doesn't matter very much to them, or to anyone else for that matter, the Olympics will always be about the athletes. I've never met an Olympic athlete or coach who had anything nice to say about the IOC. F*** those guys.

I love stuff like this. It's always cool to see what people are like when they aren't on camera. Being in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, I get to see alot of the Baby Penguins players and alot of the Yankees minor leaguers, most of them are really good dudes who are just out having a good time. I've met very few who are dickish. It's funny to see young, fit guys walking around in nice suits, sporting fresh facial cuts and black eyes and or missing teeth.

ubkev figured that PA would call him out on that. ubkev has no comment.

Good on you, PA. ubkev doesn't like the heat, so I'm taking it pretty easy in these dog days. However I am pacing my son while he's getting in shape for his cross country season. Think, Mike Tyson's Punch Out. I'm the trainer on the bike and he's Little Mac running behind me. For those too old or too young...

Make that 12 tickets paid for! I'm officially in! -
Didn't Lucroy have a team option for next year for like 4.5 million that he wanted Cleveland to tear up and they wouldn't. I thought I heard something like that.

The Olympics are good and should go on forever.
-
He sure as was for the last 2 and a half years.

Man, this is way over my head. Not directed at you, North Buffalo. Just the first thing I thought of when I read "actuarial tables".

Not from me.

Yeah....he can go shove that bat right up his ###!

Sad day for me. I love Carlos Beltran. One of the greatest outfielders of my lifetime and one of the greatest switch hitters of all time. I get that the Yankees blow. There's no way around that. They had to trade off anything of value and get back something. Still doesn't mean I'm not upset that Carlos Beltran and Andrew Miller are no longer in pinstripes. To Mr. Egg, The Rangers are definitely in better shape today than they were yesterday and they are a pretty darn good team. But don't fool yourself into thinking that Beltran is still a capable outfielder. He's not. He has no range anymore. He was always was replaced defensively late in games. But his bat is still top notch. I think the Indians are coming out of the AL, though. Good luck to your boys.

True story! Now I'm on my way out to buy some of that sweet, sweet Genesee River corn water. The kind in the green can :)
-
And it's made about a mile from my house. And fizzy corn water is the only beer I drink.
-
Agreed.

Ever since I moved into my house 3 years ago, I've had to write my return address. It's getting annoying. Come on St Judes/humane society/some cancer awareness group! Send me one of those sticker packets with my address printed on them! Save me 10 seconds when I mail out a mother's day card.
