I can play golf all day, hit the gym for an hour, play softball all night and not have a single ache. 45 minutes sitting on a bike and my tuchas does not feel very well.

Nah, the MLB draft is easy. It's 40 rounds and you really only have to pay attention to the first one. If you pay attention to college ball, you'll know about 1/3rd of the kids in the first. It's high school and college only, so you can't draft players from Latin America, or Japan, or anyplace in the French or Dutch Caribbean. All those guys are free agents, and the teams sign them when they're about 16. The pay scale is the only confusing thing. It is nothing like the NFL, NHL, or the NBA. You get a set amount of money to sign all your picks. All of them won't sign. Some will go to college to improve their draft position. Some won't play baseball. Some don't like being drafted 17th overall and want to go number 1 to the Pittsburgh pirates the very next year(Gerrit Cole). Some won't like the money offered and will chose college. Once they go to college, you have no rights to them and they go back into next year's draft. Last night the Yankees took a kid 16th who had Tommy John surgery in April. They are going to sign him way below his slot value so that they have more money to convince later picks to sign.

Had a couple friends ride from Rome to Buffalo and back one summer. It's about 375 miles. They did it over 2 and a half days. I was unwilling to participate! Lol Set a new PR today for that segment I mentioned the other day. 16th fastest all time and 6th fastest on the year. I'd bet that in peak condition I could probably shave another 5 or 10 seconds, but number 1 looks pretty unbeatable.

Sounds like you guys would really freak out if the NHL draft was like the MLB draft. Don't like your draft slot? Go to JuCo and get drafted by a new team next year. Don't like that team either? Go back to school and get drafted by another team next year. Don't like that teams offer? Go back to school again! MLB teams can't even hold a players rights if they go to school.

Back to riding for me. Can I say that if it's been 1 day? Do I have to make it another day in a row first? A week, maybe? The trails were sloppy! Holy hell! I'm covered in mud on this fine, breezy, 83 degree day. Doohickie, I found the starred segments on the strava app today. It's pretty cool. It told me I had the 75th best time, all time for this one stretch of trail. So now I have to get into the top 10 by the end of the month because of the psycho competitiveness that I have.

In a previous life, I would have approached that group of girls thinking "bet I can walk away from this with a phone number, at minimum and probably a relationship."

That would have at least gotten them a second date. At minimum, I must know their thoughts on life.

All different reasons, every time. Wasn't rich enough. Was too old (2 years older). Was too young(10 years younger. Yeah, that mom was right!). Legitimate beef with how one of them raised/treated their daughter, and I probably held onto the personal vendetta for too long. Had another ones dad haaaate! me! I was nowhere near as good as her last boyfriend because he was a hillbilly with something in common with her father and I was a pretty city boy. That girls mom actually liked me. I go into meeting parents with low expectations lol.
