http://www.torontosun.com/2014/09/15/hockey-phenom-connor-mcdavid-wants-to-be-no-1-at-nhl-draft After reading this article it confirms the fact that I REALLY want the Sabres to play out of their minds this year and draft what?? maybe 7th or 8th overall next year. This guy clearly isn’t worth coming in last and maximizing our percentages to draft him (not to mention guaranteeing Eichel as a consolation prize)

No way Stafford, Meszaros are on the team i 2017 and Hodgeson/Stewart (if still around) are on the top line. Low 60's sounds about perfect to me - I will take the under.

Criag Button releases initial 2015 rankings: http://www.tsn.ca/dr...ture/?id=124661 I see he likes Marner as well - 7th overall is the highest I've seen him rated ......yet! Only mild surprise I can see is Zboril being ranked at 15 - highest I have seen him to this point. Czech import about to start his first season with Saint John. He did have an outstanding Ivan Hlinka Tourney - 5gp 4G 2A on D for the Czech Republic

Don't leave Mitch Marner out of the conversation, I have a feeling he is going to play himself into top 5 territory - now that he will be getting first line and PP minutes with the Knights (assuming Domi and Horvat make the NHL)

Article on Victor Olofsson who is about to start season with MODO in the SHL: (Translated to English) He looks up to big brother Jesper, likes Manchester City and is compared with NHL star Steven Stamkos. Meet Victor Olofsson talented forward, who is predicted to have an exciting future. - The competition will be tough, but it's great fun to get a chance to play in the first team squad. It's just trying to do my best, play my game and hope it will go a long way. Life in hockey is quite natural for him, not just because he was born in Örnsköldsvik. But perhaps because his dad Tony had an elite career in Modo and brother Jesper plays in Karlskoga. He ranks his shot and speed as his main characteristics. Especially a piece he has been working extra to improve: physics. - I've put a lot of time to get stronger, now weighs around 80 kilograms (176lbs) and is 179 centimeters (5'9)tall. So I've put on a bit more pounds, which is also needed. In Superelit in the last season was 19-year-old with a strong 53 points in 44 games, distributed on 32 goals and 21 passing. Victor is considered a smart player, who enjoys playing on the powerplay, Thoughts ahead of senior hockey? - Increasingly so much more controlled compared to junior hockey, since most players are big and strong. The pace is naturally a bit higher. Victor Olofsson hope for an exciting season with Modo. - I have a good feeling, it looks good. We will play with a lot of pace. Everything in our game is based on speed and we have a young team. He was drafted last summer by the Buffalo Sabres and compared with star Steve Stamkos when Victor visited the NHL club

The Sabres Hockey Hotline with... somebody or other?
Crusader1969 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
How many guys who start the season with the Sabres in 2016/17 are currently on the roster this year learning to lose? Maybe 6 or 7 of the 23? No one is learning to lose. Seriously, what is the best the Sabres could do this year? is there anyone who honestly things this team could contend for the last playoff spot? This team will lose a lot this season - the question is "is it better to come last or in 7th last"?? -
Article on Noah Hanifin of interest Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel are great, but don’t sleep on Noah Hanifin | Post-to-Post

With you 100% Taro T - its not about the top 9 forwards or the top 6 D this season. This season is about making sure all prospects are playing in a league where they can best continue their developement - be it the CHL, AHL or NHL.
-
Im concerned he isn't physically ready for the NHL - im sure he is mentally ready. Sure it will be fun to watch our "shiny new toy" play in Buffalo next season but if the kid isn't strong enough at this point why not let him develop further (physically) in juniors.

The Sabres Hockey Hotline with... somebody or other?
Crusader1969 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Tried to listen to yesterdays broadcast. I CAN NOT believe that there are people, including the hosts, that think Tank Nation want the players to go out and not give it their best effort and try to lose on purpose. How many times do people have to be hit over the head with this - I want the players to try, I don't expect them to roll over so that they eventually lose their jobs to McDavid/Eichel or whomever the Sabres draft. However, I also want the Sabres management to put out a team that just isn't good enough to win on most nights. I want management to put their prospects in the best place for them to develop - some will be with the Sabres, some in Roch and others in Juniors. If a guy like Risto is better off long term with the Amerks I want him with the Amerks - even if he is the 4th best D in the organization right now. I've been a Sabres fan for 40 years, when I was young I used to cry when they lost, I wear my Sabres gear proudly while living in the middle of Leafs Nation. I travelled all over Southern Ontario to watch Sabres prospects play in the AHL and OHL. I am a true Sabres fan, I desperately want to see them lift the cup one day and this season - I will OPENLY hope that they lose. Does that make me a bad fan? Or one that is tired of the way the Sabres have been doing business for my first 39 years and I'm willing to stick with this new plan and "suffer" for a couple of years. -
Mike Harrington can’t imagine a scenario where Reinhart doesn’t play for the Sabres this season. Roster takes shape for Sabres - Sports - The Buffalo News I am totally on the other side of the fence. I love the Reinhart pick but this is a kid that didn’t make it through the Propect Game in July without needing a day off for “maintenance”. He needs to get stronger before being able to compete at the NHL level day in and day out. Let him get a taste of the NHL - playing his 9 games and then send him back to the WHL for the year. I can’t see a season where he dominates his league and captains Canada’s World Junior Team as anything but positive for him and the Sabres – not to mention saving a year on his ELC. Am I wrong here?
