I'm Going To The Erie Otters Game Tonight
Crusader1969 replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
i would suggest anyone hoping the Sabres battle for 8th this season and at best end up in 10th make the same trip. I can't imagine any of them have seen McDavid play - cause one game of his is all you need to embrace the race for last! -

Man, I can't wait to get this season started and over with! what a messed up season this will be, cheering against the Sabres and Islanders, Blues and cheering for the Laffs (dont want them anywhere near the draft lottery)
-
Not sure if this will change anything with Zadorov but London already has 2 imports on their roster this year. We hear all the time how another year with Hunter in London would be good for him but would the sabres want to send him to a team not known for their prospect development ??

Here is a crazy loophole that the Dallas Stars have just taken advantage of: Julius Honka Drafted out of the WHL can play with their AHL affiliate because they say he was "loaned" to Swift Current all of last season http://www.defending...ahl-texas-stars This happens while the Sabres non North American prospects waste a year of development in the CHL. Would be great if Sabres can figure out a similar loop hole to free Nikita!

Weber is huge part of the Tank - would hate to see him cut this year....depth AHL player in 2015-16.
-
Here is a name to get to know - Evgeny Svechnikov (Cape Breton QJMHL). Craig Button has him ranked 18th right now and he is tearing it up with 14 points in his first 7games in the Q. Could see him crack a few top ten lists if he keeps it up. I've watched a couple of his games and he looks really slick plus has great size at 6'3 205lbs. Here is just one of his "highlite" reel plays so far this season.

Hope you are getting your vocal chords warmed up. Not there yet but looking like a great call
-
anyone else hoping the Sabres sign Stewart to an extension - even if we could turn him into a non-lottery 2015 draft pick?

PERFECT. Plus, how does the list of Champions look when we limit it to Generational Players? McDavid and Eichel are on the short list that includes - Crosby, Lemieux and Gretzky. The 2015 is a once in a lifetime event when 2 of these players come out at once. So yes, it would be a disaster if the Sabres don't get one of them. We've come this far, why turn back now?? Actually its the only way out. They tried other ways for 40+ years, how much longer are you willing to wait?

This is exactly how Sports work - an Elite Player can change the course of a franchise for years.
-
Why anyone would want that is beyond me - pretty well clinches that the Sabres will look forward to another decade without a Stanley Cup.

Baptiste named Captain or should say Co-Captain http://www.sudburywo...me-captains2014

If Grigorenko earns a spot on the roster, does that mean Reinhart is back in Juniors? Dont think there is room for both
-
Except Eichel is a Centre and is projected to be better than Reinhart.
