  1. Lets be honest - this team is probably doesn'tcontend for a playoff spot until 2016/17 with all the youth at forward (especially at center) I would consider signing back Stewart. Let him have a crack at the top line with our new "centre" and Kane. Then in another year replace Gionta with Bailey / Baptiste. Eventually as all the draft picks push for spots there is going to have to be another 5 for 2 trade down the road.
  2. not to be a Debbie Downer but have you seen the list of eligible FA's this summer?
  3. Thanks, saw it after I posted. I figure if Sabres keep the same pace - 3 points per 5 games played and unless Edmonton completely collapses we should clinch with about 5 games to go in the season. Looking for a combination of 22 Sabres losses and Edmonton wins over last 25 games. Next 5 Buffalo - Philly, NYR, Nash, Columbus, Vancouver Next 5 Edmonton - Boston, Minny, Anheim, Minny, St.Louis
  4. Race for 30th. Magic Number vs all other teams with 25 games remaining Change = net change in magic number from 30 games remaining. Sabres are responsible for 7 points of the chage with a record of 1-3-1. 5. Still love Meier, DeBrusk, Svechnikov but now Im looking at Bracco as a late 1st. Small but has termendous skill. Could fit nicely in a couple of years with Eichel or Reinhart as his center.
  6. when GIrgensons first played in Buffalo was it LW? I would like to see him moved to wing but if he is a LW'er we are pretty set there with Kane and Moulson playing in the top 6. here it goes anyways: Kane Eichel TBD Girgensons Rienhart Ennis Moulson Grigerenko Gionta Deslauriers Foligno Kaleta Zadorov Risto Bogosian Pysyk Gorges Weber Still missing a RW position. Could there be a return of Stewart ? maybe one of Bailey or Baptiste will be ready? or trade for an offensive guy like Yakopov..yes I know its crazy but i think he could be had at relatively low price. Still don't see the playoffs for this team next year but they will be much more fun to watch.

  8. Thank God, you are not running the team. In 3 years it would go down as one of the worst trades in NHL history. \Funny I thought the Leafs were the change of scenery he needed when he was in Boston?
  9. Wait! Eichel is Freshman??? this changes everything!!!!
  10. The fact that he doesnt give one $hit doesnt concern you? Sabres will still be 3 years away from being a cup contender at the minimum. Look at him at 27 - you can't tell me his weight and conditioning wont be an issue when he is 30 and you still have 4 years on his contract. NO THANK YOU!

  14. Still lots of work to do in order to guarantee Eichel. Oilers have 3 Games Remaining againts teams that are more than 10 points out of a playoff spot while the Sabres have 9. The avg points per team the Sabres play is 61 while the Oilers is 63. However, if you take out the 2 games the Sabres have against Nashville the Avg Points drops to 55. The good news is that if the Sabres go at best 10-17 down the stretch the Oilers would only have to win 8 out 25. Big week ahead as both teams play 4 games. Hoping for at best 1-3 for Sabres and 1-3 at worst for Oilers.
  15. will be? how do you define the first 55?
  16. now i am on board with trading for Kane since he is out for the remainder of the year. We could offer up players who could help the Jets this year Stafford or Stewart. Maybe a mid range prospect and a draft pick late first. Wouldn`t give up the farm to get him - too much of a gamble. Seems he was hated by his team-mates.
  17. Im not sure I am a fan of N Roy at 31. Saw him at the Prospects game and skating seems to be a big issue. However, he is a big guy at 6`4 and can play a physical game. he was ranked 13th overall by McKenzie going into the season but hasn`t had much of a year so far with the Chicoutimi. Actually Chicoutimi is a really bad team and maybe he just can`t do it alone? When surrounded by better players at the Ivan Hlinka last summer he was very good and had 5 points in 5 games. Just really concerned about his skating ability.
  18. Here is a mock draft by an OHL scout (probably slightly biased towards the league) http://www.mckeenshockey.com/feature-story/youngblood-2015-nhl-midseason-mock-draft/
  19. I`ll track again after another 5 games are playes. Hopefully the Magic number vs Oilers is at 45.
  20. Race for 30th with 30 games to go for Sabres - Magic number vs all other teams Anaheim 20 St.Louis 22 Nashville 22 Tampa 23 Detriot 25 Montreal 27 NYI 27 Pittsburgh 28 NYR 30 Chicago 30 Wash 30 San Jose 31 Boston 33 Calgary 33 Winnipeg 33 Vancouver 35 Florida 38 Colorado 39 Minny 40 Dallas 40 LA 40 Philly 42 Ottawa 45 NJ 45 Toronto 46 CBJ 49 Arizona 49 Carolina 51 Edmonton 57 All we need is 20 more Sabres losses and 9 more wins by Oilers.
  21. Reinhart?
  22. Agreed. almost glad about the result last night but lets get back at it and rattle off another streak of 8-10 wins in a row. Wont feel true comfort util this thing is wrapped up and sealed, signed and delivered.
  23. yes, you trade your entire draft for 1 guy but that guy is maybe better than Crosby. How about if Carolina wins the lottery? They have the 29th ranked prospect pool in the entire league as ranked by Hockey Futures? I think they would consider trading the #1 pick for Eichel and the Sabres other top draft picks. You could even argue that Eichel would be a win for them in the marketing department. Will it happen? very unlikely but there could be some merit to it for both parties., especially if Murray sees McDavid as a clear cut better prospect than Eichel.
  24. I wouldn't do that one for McDavid but if the trade was McDavid for Eichel, 17, 22, 31 and 45 and all other picks. Now I think both teams have to at least contimplate it. Again, Im not suggesting it would EVER happen.
  25. thats why I said - it won't happen but I am asking from a Sabres stand-point. IF the other team was willling would you trade all your draft picks for McDavid v Eichel?
