  1. Sorry didn't realize you wanted a team of 21 year olds who were drafted 3 years ago. 1) when he comes over he will be able to contribute right away 2) he's trade value could help them too, if they go that road. Hoping they don't cause he's a player built for tough hockey
  2. Why in the world would you think Poltapov is a disappointment? he's playing a prominent role on one of the biggest clubs in the KHL. He's the 3rd leading scorer among their forwards. Which is pretty good since he doesn't get PP time to boost his stats. Not to mention his game really shouldn't be graded by the amount of goals and assists he gets, he brings so much more than that might want to give Östlund some time in the AHL while healthy before you write him off as well It's also a bit unfair to compare drafts success of Adams vs Murray and JBot at this time The kids drafted in Adams first year are all just turning 22 Looking at the 2021 I see 5 guys with an NHL career (Power, Rosen, Poltapov, Novikov and Kodak) that's a pretty successful draft in my opinion
  3. Yep and completely disappeared in the playoffs. but he can help get you there for sure
  4. Sure. But if you can get a legit #1 Centre for him you have to do it Maybe we should say for a guy like EP who has played like a true #1 in the past and is young enough to think he will get back to that level the question to me Cozens + what? I don't like the idea of giving up Power or Byram unless you know Byram is gone in 2 or 3 years regardless of what you would pay him
  5. Where do you stand with the Byram / Power and Cozens for EP?
  6. He's the target cause he doesn't have a NTC until July 1 been listening to a lot of Canucks central and they are saying Canucks are looking for an Eichel like return and definitely want a centre in return Cozens , Kulich or Helenius , and protected 1st round
  7. Yes cause the Sabres aren't on everyone's NTC and you want to get younger on D again?
  8. I hate to break this to you but if you trade any of Byram, Dahlin or Power you won't be winning many games at all we already saw what happened when Dahlin went out. I guarantee a d line up of Jokiharju, Bryson, Clifton and Samuelsson is getting rolled each and every night Totally disagree. The pairing of Dahlin and Byram is everything you want on a top pair except age / experience
  9. I think that's been my point from the beginning. Adams has assembled a piss poor 7/8 man D unit I've said it before and I'll say it again. it's a crime that Adams hasn't found a vet stay at home partner for Power
  10. If They lose tonight. Time to start up the engine on Team Tank once again. sad
  11. Oh I get it. You want to discard him now because he isnt living up to his contract. I'm not giving up on him because he isn't playing like an $8 million defender at the age of 22. I understand he's getting paid more than he should be, hopefully one day he plays like an $11 million defender who is only getting paid $8 million plus; who cares what he is getting paid this year? One, it's not your money and second - the team is still way under the cap
  12. lol. That's the dumbest argument of all time. Maybe he should have said no to the money?
  13. I would assume that a player good at defence would be used on the penalty kill Luke Hughes. 1min of PK time Simon Edvinsson - 68 mins Brandt Clarke - 1 min Lane Hutson - 15 mins Brock Faber - 74 Mins Jake Sanderson - 83 mins for comparison Power had 72 mins killing penalties so far this season there is a reason why only 4 guys in the NHL, who are 22 or younger, have more than 20 mins killing penalties on the season Learning to play D takes time like holy *****, we just we through the same argument 3 years ago with Dahlin there is no reason to think, just like every other dman who ever played in the NHL, he will improve by the time he is 25 If he improves his D and stays about the same offensively, he will be one of the better 2nd pair dmen in the league If he improves both his D and his O progress further, he may be the best 2nd pair dman in the league
  14. Why don't you give me a list of 22 year old (or younger) dmen in the world that you want out there defending a 1 goal lead?
  15. Thanks Not that I want the wheels to completely fall off the Sabres but if they do, being able to get a potential #1 centre (10 years after drafting Eichel) would be a good consolation prize
  16. Here's a thought. Build a balanced D corps where he isn't out there trying to protect a lead.
  17. Did anyone watch the USA closely at the WJC? If so, what are your thoughts on Hagens? I admittedly watched a lot less of the Tourney than I usually do but from little I did see, it seemed he had an extra gear above everyone else
  18. Why do you think there are only 10 defencemen (22 or younger) playing regularly in the NHL right now?
  19. Let's circle back in 3 years. Not expecting him to be a shut down defender but i do expect him to be much improved. With his offence , he will look very much like a guy drafted where he was
  20. Shame we didn't keep at least Eichel and Reinhart. id sure like to take my chances where they would be today with Jack, Samson and Dahlin
  21. I bet 3 years ago you thought Dahlin was the wrong player
  22. Especially on defence Adams should be tried for treason for not having any vets in his top 4
  23. Well they aren't winning now, so I'm not going to discard a 22 year old dman. I'm going to work with him to improve, including getting him a vet partner. Something he has never had dear god Aren't you tired of seeing players the Sabres discard do well on other teams?
  24. I'm so over people blaming 22 year old players and not having the patience to let them develop. id really like to see Power with a vet partner whom he can lean on prior to discarding him. it's just a trait of Sabres fans ... blame young stars, who have potential to improve, rather than wanting to improve the roster around them
