  1. Literally no way we win today? Seriously?
  2. I think they were just trying to get me to panic and order the center ice package (i was thinking the free preview ended a week early.) It worked.
  3. I've had to go through extra security on about 80% of my flights in the last ten years. In fairness, my facial hair makes me look terrorist-y. I guess what I'm saying is, maybe it's time to start waxing your upper lip.
  4. Sounds like you might be close: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/2013/01/vanek-missing-as-ruff-shuffles-lines.html Lines at practice today: Foligno-Hodgson-Pominville Ott-Grigorenko-Stafford Hecht-Ennis-Kaleta Scott-Ellis-Gerbe/McCormick
  5. I can't fault Lindy for playing Hecht, to my eyes he's been one of our best forwards so far this season.
  6. Conspiracy Theory: What are the odds that Lindy just kept Grigs on the bench last night to see how he'd take it (considering there probably will be times this season when he struggles and needs to ride the pine.) Sorry, my tinfoil hat might be a little tight.
  7. If they miss it will be 4 out of 6 seasons not making it in a league where more than half of the teams are in (and they lost in the first round in those two appearances.) I like Lindy, but unless there are some really ###### up circumstances with injuries, etc..., I would expect Lindy to be gone if they're not playing in May.
  8. After last night I'd be shocked to see him stay up. Not because I saw anything particularly terrible out of him, but the lack of ice time seems to indicate that Lindy has made up his mind. And I should say that while I'm a little disappointed (we all had high hopes) I think it's probably the right decision. I do question the decision to not give him more ice time, but to be fair, Lindy is likely coaching for his job this year, (playoffs or busted) and in a shortened season every point counts.
  9. Trying to watch the game, I have DirecTV, is anyone else having issues?
  10. A lot of coasting out there. I hope Lindy benches him tomorrow night.
  11. Ott and Weber are supposed to be best buds, right? You are grumpy.
  12. Sorry if this was already discussed, but did anyone catch (and hopefully explain) why Foligno seemed to miss a few shifts back to back in the 3rd?
  13. Yeah, it reminds me of sitting around with my uncles. I don't mind it.
  14. Going back to watch this again, I'm gonna say Scott.
  15. That's a euphemism, right?
  16. DirecTV seems to have em all in HD.
  17. It's weird watching Roy complain in another sweater.
  18. Interesting note for all those going to the game today (and at all this season.) http://tonawanda-news.com/columns/x1746080602/Beware-where-you-buy-your-beer-at-arena

  20. True, but is it really a big deal to send Ellis down to Rochester until (if) we actually need him? I'm not saying all season, just for a week or two until we can trade a d-man.
  21. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/13/sports/hockey/nhls-sprint-of-a-season-includes-pitfalls.html Not sure if anyone caught Lindy's comments on WGR earlier this week (Monday?) where he mentioned possibly moving towards a three line rotation with some specialists. It seems counter to the premise of this article, it will be interesting to see how it plays out (and if Lindy is just blowing smoke.)
  22. Can we keep 9 d-men to start the season without sending any forwards down? Here is who I came up with for forwards from the Sabres site. I added Hecht and Grigorenko and left off Gerbe and McCormick since they are injured (I am assuming they don't count against the roster limit.) Matt Ellis Tyler Ennis Marcus Foligno Cody Hodgson Patrick Kaleta Ville Leino Steve Ott Jason Pominville "C" John Scott Drew Stafford "A" Thomas Vanek "A" hecht grigorenko
  23. I was trying to figure out if the Centre Ice package is really worth it to me. At first I was thinking at $60 I was definitely going to get it, but after doing some looking into the schedule, I found that of the 48 games, 21 should be already televised in my market of NYC / NJ Metro area (based on free preview, national games, and games against NYI, NYR and NJD.) So ~ 2.22$ per game, of which, I'll probably realistically watch about half (we have a new baby) which makes it ~ 4 dollars per game. Which means I will probably wait to see how they do during the free preview before committing to anything.
  24. Ok - I think I was out of the country during that first round, and just assumed it was only on the old VS.
