Now's a good time for Benson to be resting. Were in the midst 12 day stretch (10-20 thru 10-31) with only 3 games. I don't mind him sitting the next 2 games if it means he's healthy.

This team needs multiple wins in a row. This is a game last year that would be a guaranteed loss. Are these Sabres any different? Is tonight the night they figure out the power play?

I have to believe the injury he had on day 1 of camp is lingering and is a big factor in what we're seeing of him on the ice. It's clear somethings not right. If I'm the coaches I take him off #1 PP unit for now, anything for a spark.

Need to string some wins together. What doomed this team last year was the inability to win multiple games in a row.

I found this googling, not sure how true this is but looks like the pens had a rough start last year. Toronto went 51 attempts without a goal once but I'm not sure if that was to start the season. "I googled that Toronto holds the NHL record of most consecutive powerplays without a goal (51). Pittsburgh is now 0/34 and 12 games without scoring pp goal and they have allowed some shorthanded goals during these games as well."

We're already mid death spiral.

I never liked Reimer and at the surface don't care that he's gone, but this whole scenario stinks of poor asset management. You could have sent Levi down as a paper transaction and then waive Reimer as after teams have settled with their rosters. Now we have another position we're thin at.

If UPL or Levi go down with a week-to-week injury who fills in as our back-up goaltender? Do we then overplay the uninjured goalie until they then suffer an injury from being overextended?
