This will be an emotional one for sure. Thank you RJ for being the voice of the Sabres my entire life. I'm expecting my first child in ~3 weeks and I'm getting emotional thinking about how he's never going to hear RJ call a game, highlights will be shared.

The Sabres have lost 19 games by 1 goal, and an additional 4 games by 2 in which an empty netter has been scored. This means they've been within 1 goal in 23 of their losses by the end of the game. If we had a good goalie, maybe we win 13 of those games? That puts us close to playoff contention. If GMKA has a strong off-season and brings in a real goalie for UPL to back-up, and spends some money to bring in established D-men who can both contribute and mentor Power/Dahlin, we're going to be making the playoffs next year. You have another year of development for Tage, Mitts, Krebs, Cozens plus brining up JJ & Quinn? It'll be an interesting off-season because we'll have to hit the floor. I'd like to see us throw a similar deal we gave Hall to Patty Kane. 1 year / 9 million. Put him on a line with Quinn and Cozens or something.

I've seen worse odds. I'm surprised Fitzgerald hasn't been sent down to help out Rochester. Maybe I'm only remembering his gaffes and not his better plays but I recall him having some BAD shifts the past few games. I don't understand why we're scratching Miller/Pysysk each night when Fitzgerald could have been down in Rochester helping them in any way possible. Rochester making the playoffs seems like it'd do a lot more for the development for many of our younger players by getting Krebs, Quinn, JJ, Samuelson, etc all playoff experience.

It feels like it's been way too long since the Sabres last played. Hopefully this interruption won't throw off their rhythm. Hoping to see them finish strong. If I were GMKA I'd call up Quinn to give him one more taste of the show and then send him and Fitzgerald back down to Rochester so he can help them get the last win needed to hopefully qualify for the playoffs. I think Tage pops in two tonight to set RJ up to call one more 40th goal scorer tomorrow.
