Remember that every team this time of year is releasing goalies, and if they claimed Subban he'd have to be on their NHL roster. Subban is 4th on the Sabres depth chart, a team who hasn't had the goaltending sorted out since Ryan Miller was here. Nobody is claiming him.

Yeah but last season the other option was Dustin Tokarski, opposed to someone they targeted in Free Agency who they felt was ready to take over as a starter. Last season Anderson was slated to be our starter. This year he's there to be a calming influence in the locker room.

I find it interesting there's multiple people who see Anderson as the opening night starter. From everything I've read/seen the team do this summer it's clear our goalie depth chart has been Comrie , Anderson, UPL and then Subban.

I really like the Asplund - Girgensons - Okposo line. That'll be a great shutdown line and it also keeps Asplund from not finishing nice setups from more skilled linemates.

I understand that point but as an organization I'd be shoving as much experience down Savoie's throat as possible as he's our top prospect from this draft. If a Bjork or a...Mason Jobst(?) has to sit an extra game, that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make

The Sabres should use the future considerations from the Bishop deal to get this done.

I'm surprised Savoie isn't playing with the rest of the kids tonight. I know he played the other night but shouldn't the goal be to get him as much pro experience before sending him back to wherever he plays? JRs? WHL?

Asplund and Samuelsson will never be the types of players to ink large contracts. I'm really hoping we see breakout years from Casey & Cozens this year, more so Casey as he seems to be following in the steps of Tage. I recall two seasons ago Tage had a great camp, was performing in Rochester and then got injured in the first period of the first game he was called up, effectively ending his season. Same narrative with Casey, great camp, ready to come out and then spent most of the season on the sidelines. Here's to hoping he lights it up this year as our 2C. We'll see growth from Cozens but he's a bit younger so I don't expect as much.
