Anyone whose listened to GMKA speak knows he operates by his plan. Comrie and Anderson are the starters in Buffalo, when healthy. When Comrie is healthy UPL will be sent back to Rochester and will have the majority of the starts until Anderson or Comrie get injured again. Next year it will be Comrie/UPL in Buffalo and Levi taking UPL's spot in Rochester.

Eh, by my count there were a jillion icings in the last 3 minutes, so they were catching their breath. And since the only time the puck left the Sabres zone he didn't have the opportunity to get them off the ice.

28:30 for Muel and 29+ for Dahlin tonight. Those guys deserve a few days off.

It's rare to see players exercise that sort of patience, the defense looks like they're freezing because they're expecting the immediate shot and are trying to block it. Tage has unlocked matrix like powers where he slows reality down and weaves around until his finds his spot.

Trading Thompson for a 5th would have really been a nice feather in that O'Reilly trade. St Louis gets ROR and a cup Buffalo ends up with a 5th round pick after what's his face quit, Sobotka played himself out of the league, the 1st round pick of Ryan Johnson walked and Sabres fans got to watch Tage Thopmson rise on another team. Yikes! Which GM would have made that trade? Part of me wants to say "no way Bottreril does that, so it has to be Adams", but mabye Jbots called another audible? Yeesh.

Maybe that's why Jerry Forton was in tears after the last draft.

Do the players receive any financial bonus when they get named start of the week?

My takeaway from this latest episode is that Mittlestat and Byrson spend most of their day sitting around, not doing jack *****. Looks like that translates to the ice as well.

10PM REVENGE GAME - lets grind out another win tonight before we can get some much needed rest. And by "grind" I mean Thompson puts on a show and puts up anywhere between 6-9 points.

I know we need goaltending help, but I'm trying to put myself in Adam's mindset. To date, we really haven't seen Comrie and his struggles came during our stretch with the depleted D, so the book is still out on him once he gets healthy and he's signed through next season. We also have Levi in the wings (but it is silly to rely on a college kid to come in and instantly solve all the goaltending problems). My point is we have some type of term and depth for that position - not quite so with the defense where we have nothing in the pipeline and the lack of depth is killing us. Byrson is a -15 , we need to push him down the depth chart.

It really sucks having one of the best offenses in the league and being 7 points back out of the playoffs. We have an overabundance of draft capital and young prospects, and if even half of those prospects/pick "hit", we won't have room on our roster for them. Hoping GMKA and his analytics team can identify the prospects they don't think are going to work out and move them + a pick for more immediate D help.

If we trade for a goalie what do we do with Anderson and Comrie? UPL is easy, he can be sent down to Rochester. There is zero chance Adams would waive Anderson this year (out of veteran respect) nor is he going do anything with the FA goalie he targeted this off-season. I'd only do one of VO or Mitts and that 1st round pick would have to be a 2nd. I'm struggling to decide who provides more value for the Sabres, Mitts or VO.

Haven't seen it discussed much here, because the play of others have overshadowed him, but Okposo has been a disappointment this year. The past two seasons he was looking really good and now he feels invisible out there a lot of times. I understand he's not on the PP2 unit this year, but last year he was still creating a few chances a game. This year it's hard to notice him.

Yeah, my preference is to have Anderson on the road, but he also hasn't played in a while and I know Granato likes to challenge his players which might lead to him giving UPL the rest today and the start tomorrow. Ultimately it doesn't really matter whose in net if we keep putting up 9 goals.

I propose you all either create a new thread to have a pissing contest or make use of the "Ignore" button - this thread is getting off the rails. Any word on the goaltender tonight? Thinking we'll see UPL at home and Anderson tomorrow on the road? Or vice versa?

For Tage? Wonder if there will be any tinkering on the 3rd line. Will Asplund or Hinistroza fill in for Mitts or VO?

I haven't read through the entire thread so I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet but the ascension of Thompson into an elite player has made the loss of Eichel's production insignificant. My biggest concern with the trade was that, sure, we have a few more contributing pieces but they're not going to match his production. Wrong. Right now Thompson, Dahlin and Skinner all have more points than Eichel, Tuch has one fewer and cozens is two behind him. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's easy to lose a franchise player when you have 2/3 more step up in his place. Go Sabres.
