    At least the first two rows behind the Sabres bench are completely empty. With the Bills on prime-time tonight I wonder how that will affect the turn-out of the Buffalo crowd. ZEMGUS! You gotta bury that!

    Is it wrong I'd rather see Gionta sitting over Des? I've tried not to be critical of his game this season but I've hated every line he's skated on.

    I'm conditioned to read this and think "well, against the Sabres it seems like a perfect time for a team to snap out of their funk and open up the floodgates." Nowadays, not so much. I grow weary of these measly 2 point games from Eichel, lemme see 3 points. As miraculous as some of his saves has been, Ocho Cinco probably won't be able to sustain that kind of play and I'd prefer to see Ullmark start.

    From an off-season interview I recall Murray saying if we were contending for a playoff spot he wasn't going to trade assets for a veteran to push us over the edge to get there. He's planning long term and won't be giving up future stock for players in the twilight of their career.

    I can't find the video but there was a presser with Bylsma from right around the start of the season where a reported asked him if there was a possibility we'd ever see D-LO brought in to play defense if they needed him to and the coach's reaction was an emphatic "no". I'm not convinced that he'll be back before Kane...last update we have from DB is “He’s doing well, on progression, building a foundation. There is a date when you will see him. Eventually, you will see it come to fruition.” which, to me, sounds vague. "There is a date when you will see him" could mean anything. edit: my stance on him not being back before Kane is MOSTLY sarcasm.

    After 15 games Eichel is leading the team with 56 shots. Second place goes to Risto who has 41.

    Is it bad that I'm almost disappointed he only had two points tonight? The chances were certainly there.

    Thanks for the heads up. It's refreshing to want to watch more hockey after watching the Sabres play....it's something I haven't felt in a long, long time.

    I blame Ted Black for requesting all these nonsensical matinee games. In my world this schedule mess is somehow related, perhaps those in charge making the schedule have the line of thought "Oh, you want to play at 3 o'clock on a Monday of a holiday that shouldn't be recognized? You want to play at 1 p.m. for every saturday game this year? If you want ridiculous times you can also have ridiculous blocks of teams..." or something, something.

    Eeesh. This season is starting to feel like Groundhog Day. Sabres keep waking up to play the same team each day. This is a must win game for me, we need to show this team we're not a doormat and won't be swept/go down without a fight vs. Tampa. Additionally, a win will give them a boost a confidence, any they'll need all the help they can get this month since the schedule is brutal this month.

    Eesh. Only 12 shots after two periods? If I recall we had the same amount vs. The islanders after two as well. Hopefully they step it up in the 3rd cause you know Vancouver is gonna come out angry.
