  1. I agree with this. There are more of those problems than the goal issues. More is made of the goal issues though.
  2. I wouldn't make that trade either! And good deal! The Stars already signed their first draft pick (only one so far though)
  3. I had forgotten about it. What channel is it on?
  4. Stars Draft pick first to sign
  5. I don't have any more patience. Waiting for football and hockey seasons to commence/more moves to be made is just killing me now :( I need to get away from my computer is what i need lol. Time to gtfo of work
  6. sweet thanks for the heads up! I have the first season on Blu-ray, but I would love to just sit down and watch a marathon of the show B-) !
  7. :clapping:    That's rather repulsive!!
  8. F'N Fantastically Awesome sir!! Congrats!
  9.  woah!!! Mediocrity?! Sabres fans, C'mon!!! We all know WE CAN'T have mediocrity here in Sabreland!! :bag:
  10. thanks man! and yeah, it really does damper one's spirits. Good luck to yours.
  11. Yesterday, I alluded to this, but wanted to wait till today to share. I am applying for a new job that is half the distance than the place I work now (Ithaca vs Elmira from Dryden). It's a similar position, same benefits, but better pay, and I already know a lot of the people there since I co-oped there when I was in College. Hopefully I get the job because (1) I would save a ton of money using less gas (2) I'd have more free time with less driving (3) less miles on my 1 yr old car (4) I may have a better opportunity to move laterally there into a true engineering position rather than being stuck in sales and engineering (I have a rare gift among mechanical engineers: good people skills [insert office space joke here] ). There are so many positives, I haven't been able to truly find a negative yet. I've grown tired of the place I've worked, and I've only been here for 20 months. I feel no sense of loyalty to the company after they keep changing policies around (SEE: My complaint about losing the ability to flex time), and expect me to be available even on vacation (this was the last straw: I submitted my request for time off, and told my boss that I was going on a vacation with my girlfriend at my Uncle's cabin, on a sort of couples vacation, and that I wouldn't be available at all, and he told me that I WILL answer his calls... :w00t: yeah...ok). It'll be F'N Fantastic if I get the job. Now I'm looking forward to kayaking around Cayuga lake and the inlet tomorrow with the girlfriend.
  12. I think he'll make the Sabres, I hope he does. I think he's ready, and I think he'll do well. He was who I really wanted the Sabres to draft, and was happy he "fell" to them.
  13. he was saying not old enough to play in the minors (i.e Amerks). it's been covered a few times, but he can only play Sabres or that league with no competition ;)
  14. First of all, Miller is just honest in all of his post game interviews. I have never heard him "throw his teammates under the bus." He just answers the questions asked to him, and doesn't give the same old same old cliches, which is refreshing. Ruff calls out Miller ALL the time, and the team covers for Miller, even after Miller throws himself under the bus. I've heard Myers and Weber among others say they blew an assignment and "left Millsie hanging high and dry." Second, Enroth doesn't have better stats and he sure the hell isn't the gamechanger that Miller is, and you are blowing his streakiness WAY out of proportion. Does he have a game or two when he's cold? yeah, but this past year was the first time I've ever seen him go on a LONG cold streak, and I think you really can attribute it to him not being ready to come back from the injuries. He's the only one that has shown up in the playoffs the last two series we've had, and he's the one constant on this team. I wouldn't want to trade him.
  15. How good would they have been had Vanek gone over there? How many more games do they win or take to OT to give them more points? You can't say with certainty that Edmonton would've done the same, and didn't they just lose in the SCF? so foresight at the time would tell you they could be middle of the pack, and therefore wouldn't net you any decent draftpicks! Darcy at the time did the right thing in my opinion!
  16. The phones being down, and my email being inaccessible is what killed my productivity. I'm a sales engineer. I need to be in contact with my customers in order to do my job. thus. productivity dips. sucks. Although, I think I'll be applying for a new better paying job tomorrow, but that can go in tomorrow's thread.
  17. seriously! The crap I've read on here quoted makes my brain hurt.
  18. exactly. My shirt was soaked as if I had just gone swimming. I am pretty sure that I was extremely low of the necessary amount of sodium in my body. I still feel drained today :( Really wish I could just take off and leave!
  19. backstory: Had an awesome Fourth with my girlfriend and her brother and a mutual friend. We drove down to Croton, NY to bike along the old aqueduct trail. Ended up going about 13 miles total. Great time up until: complaints: 1) I started suffering from heat exhaustion. I had to drink: 2 L of water, a large bottle of powerade, and a 20 OZ Hawaiian Punch, and ate some jerky (salty food to help retain the water in my body). Didn't help much, as I was still dehydrated, clammy, and at one point, I had the chills even though it was 90° outside. We took a long break to relax in the shade, and then we took off again towards the cars (still 4 miles out), when 2) the back tire of my bike went flat. I had to walk the last 4 miles. awesome. It ended up taking us a little longer than desired to get back to the cars. So, instead of grilling at the park, we decided to wait until we got to my girlfriend's parent's house. We called on our way back and they said, "yeah sure, feel free to grill whenever you get home." 3) Well, we got there at 915 pm after stopping for a few extra groceries (and another stop for more fluids for me). We get there, and the parental units are already in bed, and they left a note on the counter saying something along the lines of "we're in bed, we don't want you grilling this late, blah blah blah, FU" (again, I'm paraphrasing  ). So we decided to set up the grill and eat on the back deck anyways, but we had to do so with candles and a flashlight because God forbid we turn on a light. :wallbash: I love my girlfriend, but her parents leave a little to be desired. and now today, I have to work, while 85% of my customers are either 1) shut down for the week, or 2) shut down for their scheduled annual summer shutdown...I have 2 major projects with customers who are not shut down, and I LOATHE one of them so much, that I am having the receptionist screen my calls today (not supposed to do that, but I talk to her at the front desk all the time, so she's really nice to me :) ).
  20. Parise was very impressed with Miller after the Olympics, so it was a possibility, I could see what the OP was trying to say. I don't think he'd be as impressed now, nor do I think Miller has near the pull that a close friend as Drew Stafford theoretically would have. I honestly don't think he's coming here though. IMHO, I think Darcy is trying to trade for someone. Is there any elaboration on your part, or shall we try to decipher your mixed emotions there? (by the way, there are more emotions in your post than in a middle school hallway).
  21. I don't think the Pens can afford Geno, Sid, ANDParise, on top of the rest of their team. They will be very strapped at that point.
  22. He still cowers at the sight of a Sabres jersey in his vivacity <-- ?? vicinity after what Campbell did to him...not wise to put him on our team.
  23. dear god sir. That sounds epically delicious!
