You know, you have a good point here. After just 5 minutes of looking around the internet, I see what you're saying. You have officially helped to change my stance on this topic.

I see. I love the turnover in college. You don't get the "darcy" problem of holding onto players for too long. I like the turnover, and I love my Tigers, and follow them almost more than I do the Sabres. The turnover makes it more exciting to me. You have that unknown factor of "what kind of dropoff will we see, if any?"

But college teams are the same way...

1) The Batman quote popped into my head as I was typing that, I knew someone would reference it lol 2) A lot of people carry large caliber handguns for hunting trips where they may encounter dangerous game (i.e. Bears, Mountain Lions, etc). My cousin carries a .44 with him in the Adirondacks last I knew. Otherwise, I have no clue.

^this. When my permit goes thru, I'll be getting a safe specifically to keep my gun(s) in when not being carried. (although in Tompkins county, I can't get concealed carry, only hunting and target shooting restrictions :censored: ...) :huh: ;)

Friday night I went out to eat with my girlfriend's brother. We went downtown, and decided to try the Liberty Hound over in the Naval yard. Not a whole lot for selection, but the food is great quality and in quantity. Good wine list, and beer list. Over all, not too shabby.

It's called escalation. Even if you do get better enforcement, the criminal is going to find a way to complete what he has deemed as his mission. Instead of guns, they turn to other, worse means. I believe that any good law abiding citizen that wants to carry a gun for safety should be allowed to with the proper background checks and possibly even a psych evaluation. A couple I know had someone brandish a knife on them one night up in 'Cuse. The guy told the man he was reaching for his wallet to give him what he asked for, and instead pulled out his handgun which was holstered on his hip under his shirt (he never tucks his shirts in, ever, and you can never tell he's carrying either). Guy dropped the knife, incident over. In my opinion, there might not ever be the need, but there may be the one time where you really do need it. I'd rather have the upper hand, and be able to protect myself or my girl, or if I had kids, them.

1) I think Phelps is one of the greatest athletes ever, but I don't feel inclined to dub him (or anyone for that matter) the greatest ever. As was said before, he is just a machine. 2) US v New Zealand Women's Soccer game should already be 3-0 in the 22nd minute, but the US women keep missing open nets and are shooting high, so 0-0 it remains. 3) I found the article on the South Korean (and the video) dislocating his elbow. That was disgusting. I feel bad for the guy.

Deliberately losing to gain favorable matchups is ###### though. If you can't handle playing where you seed, or don't want to play the "harder" teams, maybe you shouldn't be there.

It's the Olympics for Christ's sake! All of these teams are "the best of the best from around the world." I ABSOLUTELY agree with them being DQed because it's so bush league!

:w00t: :w00t: And from what I understood about throwing the matches, all four teams were definitely looking to gain favorable matchups, and all of them were warned several times. The crowd was even pissed I guess, from what I've read.
