  1. Vancouver was NHL sized ice...not true Olympic/Euro size.
  2. I foresee Miller as 1 then Quick, especially based on level of play now, and how Miller stole the show 4 years ago.
  3. except I believe you're seeing the best you're ever going to see out of Thad. I believe that with a a full offseason of training the way the coaches want him to, and a little work on his part, EJ can become much better. He isn't anywhere near his ceiling yet. I can't believe so many people are ready to give up on him so quickly. It always seems in Buffalo, that fans know best in regards to our QB situation, believing that our backup is always better than our starter. It's kind of crazy IMHO. The kid played in 10 games all year, played with a shoddy offensive line that couldn't keep him upright, and a revolving door at WR (Stevie was out 3 games not to mention was hobbled for others, Goodwin missed games, Woods missed games, etc.). Not to mention he is much more secure with the ball than Thad. Thad appears to be the spokesman for Fumble-itis.
  4. 4th of 5th fine...not #2. The guy is a joke. He drops so many passes (more than Stevie). Stevie as our primary slot receiver, Woods moving around as #2 receiver, and then a good, tall receiver that can go up for jump balls as our #1, with Goodwin our deep threat that can play inside or outside as well to keep defenses honest. TJ can be 4th then, yeah. I really want to see Moeaki. I think Chandler and Moeaki can make a great 1-2 punch as our starting TE if Moeaki still has it after his injury. Then having a blocking specialist in Lee Smith, I don't think we need to focus on TE as much this offseason. O-line, LB, and defensive depth/special teams players are our main needs for the most part. I'm actually excited for next year. I think that we can finally turn it around with some more depth and a little (lot) more consistency (which we should get just from playing in the same system again with the 1st year players having a year of development now notched in their belts).
  5. to clarify, he said he wants good special teamers that could play in multiple facets (i.e. depth on D and excellent special teams). I had to go back and read the interview because it seemed peculiar to me as well. In regards to the draft, I would love to get rid of TJ Graham somehow, and if he's available, take M. Evans. If we can't have him, I'd love Mack. I don't think there are any big, go up and get it type receivers in FA, so I would like to draft one of the best available. Hopefully Byrd-man re-signs, as well as Carrington. We don't need OT as much as G, as Chris Hairston should be back. And I wouldn't move Glenn, as he was the most consistent guy on our O-line.
  6. The phrase "cold as hell" makes me want to bash my head on my desk. Then again, if my employer would've fixed the heat weeks ago, I would not be dealing with that phrase.
  7. I 100% agree with this. All of this.
  8. Men's Health magazine a month or two ago said they were real.
  9. on your first: apparently rumor has it that he's been habitually late to team meetings. captains talked to him yesterday. coaches decision to bench. second: I agree that Thad is slightly better right now, but I believe it has more to do with him being in the league longer. I think in the long run EJ is going to be MUCH better than Thad, as I think Thad has hit his ceiling or is close to it. I think that with a little better offseason coaching, EJ will be much better next year. Tannehill wasn't anything to write home about last year, but this year he really stepped up (was a choke artist though). I think EJ is really going to grow because everything people say he has been terrible at this year is at least coachable.
  10. This is going in here since the Friday thread is closed: So my company as a whole has been busting ass to get as much done before end of year so that we can pad our numbers for corporate this year (and have a record year) so that we can get more stuff (i.e. repairs, new equipment, etc.) next year. Management decided that since there's a lot of us here that don't have to be, they are buying us all pizza and wings for lunch. Awesome, F'N Fantastic, however you want to put it. Only downside, I'm bored out of my mind calibrating a few instruments waiting for tests to finish up.
  11. Agreed. I think since Nolan has lit a small fire under Stafford's arse, we may be able to move him at the deadline.
  12. well, the darkest red on the map was Buffalo and Rochester...both are places that I grew up in/spent 2/3 of my life so far. impressive.
  13. nothing a trip to Lowes, and a little wood filler cannot fix
  14. Couldn't take my dog to the house my girlfriend and I are renting due to separation anxiety and stress (he ate a door frame...and not just a little), so we are adopting our own pup and leaving the older dog with my sister and mom. We found a pit/retriever mix that we both love at the SPCA. Pick him up the day after Christmas!
  15. That is definitely awesome to hear!
  16. Finally read World War Z. Liked it a lot, and it had little to no resemblance to the movie. Started The Outpost by Jake Tapper this past weekend. It's about an Army forward outpost in the most remote region of Afghanistan, and the perils of scouting and building it. I'm a little over a third of the way thru so far, and it has been a mixed bag of emotions. I love the book, but get angry with decision makers and pencil pushers whilst reading. For anyone that wants a good understanding of why a lot of things went wrong in Afghanistan, this is a great book.
  17. I know, I know lol damn dude! Shouldn't they have noticed that his insurance lapsed on the side of the road?! and what happens now in terms of payments? you shouldn't have to be paying for any of this! best of luck.
  18. good luck man! I wouldn't undervalue yourself at all.
  19. ripped a hole in my dress sock an hour into the day. :( Also, somehow I lost 1 day of vacation in the last 3 months (The new time card lady added vacation onto two half days that I took, even though I (1) am salary and (2) put in 40 hours without the extra vacation added on). I can't get it back because of some blah blah blah mumbo jumbo too long ago now (she forgets to send out our time card info with our vacation on it regularly. I already told people I was going to be out on Monday (we have to work the 23rd), and there is no way I'm driving to Buffalo for Christmas parties over the weekend, driving 2.5-3 hours back to Ithaca to work, then 2.5-3 hours back to Buffalo for actual Christmas with my family, to drive back to Ithaca on Christmas evening. So I guess I'll be coming down with a case of the Monday's and will just get an unpaid day Monday.
  20. just got a text update that EJ Manuel is declared out for Sunday's game and Thad Lewis will be the starter. That's weird. I got two tickets from a guy at work. He told me for $10 ea. I could have them. Gave him $20 ea. sitting in sect. 116. excited. I'm 2-1 on the year at Bills games...with both wins coming with my girlfriend being there with me (Carolina and NYJ). Going without her to this game...hoping I can watch a win without her having to be there. lol
  21. that was absolutely ridiculous. As the announcer even says, he sped up at the blueline, and he had one target and one target only. He destroyed Schenn! Those are the types of hits that need out of the game. Those are the types of hits others on this board were damning Kaleta for. It's unacceptable.
  22. I think they need to better the offensive line before expecting any better QB play honestly. But otherwise, yes, you are right.
  23. Never thought of that...sounds good! And I always got my plates at Henrietta Hots or that Bill Grey's place.
  24. meatball sub with banana peppers from wegmans. Now, I only want to nap...alas, MUST...Finish...day at work.... :(
