Girlfriend was put on call tonight at the hospital. Was hoping we'd get to spend the evening together and watch the game together. Nope. She just got called in 5 minutes ago. Blah.

realistic? realistic would be realizing that as long as DR was here, we weren't trending in any direction but down. Now that the old regime is gone, and more and more of the old core is gone, the mentality of this team can finally change, the effort can coached back into it, and we should be at rock bottom as of yesterday (today is the slow start to climb up). -

that boarding call he took last night didn't seem that bad. I'd take it he hasn't been on the scoring sheet much lately? Is this a case of getting used to the N.American ice rather than Euro ice in terms of size and space? I haven't seen much or paid much attention to the Amerks as of late, so any insight is helpful. -

couldn't agree with you more. This is a new page for us Sabres fans. I'm excited to see what this group can do for us. -

that sucks man. Hope everything gets settled sooner rather than later. best of luck I just found out yesterday that a good friend from college that I worked with is on the losing end of his battle with cancer. It's been tough on him, and he spent Christmas in the ER. He had to move back home to California to live with his parents. I'm really sad, but he's in denial and isn't telling many people (I found out thru our old supervisor, he didn't even tell me) so it's making it harder because his family told us he only has a few weeks. On top of that, I have a second shift machinist here at work that is supposed to split his time between two depts, and he's supposed to machine my fixtures and samples so that first shift can focus on other jobs, but in the last week, he has only accomplished 1 of 5 tasks I have asked of him. It is really starting to put me behind. I was in the machine shop starting at 8 am. Finally finished machining 2 of my own fixtures and got another sample handed off to first shift machinist to finish for me. I'm so fed up. As a lead engineer, I'm supposed to oversee some machining, maybe drill a few holes for myself here and there, but management gets PISSED when I do stuff myself. Feel better!!! and did they ever find that guy? I saw a few friends posting stuff about that last night

Watched part of the game...then fell asleep on the couch. Was interesting to start with, but 3 (what seemed like back-to-back-to-back) B-Sens powerplays in the first period was kind of a mood killer. -
  Knowing D4rk personally...this is kind of funny.

agreed. good post.

to me this is an exercise in futility given the way this season has played out. Every night is a crapshoot as to which Sabres team shows up to play. Hodgson at his best can be our #1a center. He scores. He plays well on the PP. He does what he is supposed to do. I believe he is 1 piece with which to start the rebuilding of this team around.

I just watched him play against the B-Sens, and I was not overly impressed. He tends to bite on the first move a guy makes, and he was caught out of position several times. That was just one sampling. The B-Sens scored 3 goals on their first 15 - 18 shots. but call me unimpressed

bump No plans this weekend except being on my skis. :D B-)

I now get what you are saying vs what others are saying. I was getting a little confused. agreed

William Shatner, is that you?

 Why is that illegal? he'd be a rental player...

I admit, I suggested it. The team suggested it when they drafted him. Labeling him a bust after 10 games and limited preseason action seems kind of crazy to me (as does labeling him our definitive franchise guy). I was simply saying that the Bills believe he can be the Franchise guy, and I believe with some further coaching, he just may turn out to be that guy. As I posted earlier, a lot of his weaknesses this year can be attributed to lack of experience. Now that he has seen NFL defenses and has experienced the new speed, he should adapt. If he can't adapt by the end of next year, then, and only then will I agree with you. I believe 90% of his downfalls are coachable. he's a coachable player. He will get better.

all this snow outside, and I can't really enjoy it on my skis until Saturday at the earliest :( :(

quickly? it seemed like they were stuck on Gabbert for WAY too long. Tannehill started slow last year (not a top 5 pick) but markedly improved into this year. He is viewed as the Franchise guy for Miami. I foresee Manuel doing the same thing. Most rookie qbs not picked top 5 or 10 show Andrew Luck or RGIII success in their first year.
