  1. The thing that bugs me the most is a lot of the new outlets reporting that the best takeaway from last night is that the Giants run game can or will be formidable. I'm left scratching my head. the first 2 series, they went nowhere. The only completions allowed were dump offs. They weren't able to gain more than a few yards/carry until the entire 2nd team came in (LBs and DL). Does NFL.com or fox sports media watch or pay attention? On top of that, the Giants only averaged 3.2 yds/rush which isn't anything to write home about. My thoughts on everything else: 1) Manuel looked like a young qb typically looks in his first preseason game of the season. He starred down a receiver or two, and overthrew a guy. Nothing to be too scared of yet. He'll get more time Friday. He went through his progression decently, and he trusted his receiver to make a play (i.e. letting M. Williams go up and make a play on the endzone ball - he didn't do that often last year, avoiding that kind of throw for a check down). 2) Our 1st team D looks nasty, except for picking up screens. This is where Kiko and his awareness come in handy. We will be missing that this year. 3) Our O-line looks better. I'm not too worried about Henderson filling in for Glenn if need be. 4) Tuel looked better last night than Lewis by a large margin. 5) There's no way that Hogan or Easley are left off of the roster.
  2. faith in humanity...semi-restored
  3. I'll third or fourth or whatever: Avoid Key at all costs. My dad and sister both use First Niagara and they both rave about their customer service and help they provide.
  4. haha nfreeman is closer very true.
  5. the complaints themselves are more of a nuisance to the flow of the overall news. the news is great but I am bound to not say anything yet. There's a complaint: not being able to share potentially superb news until after a chain of events occurs. and my company saying 3% was max was just a figure they could use to say "hey, we can hand out raises up to 3%" even though the average was close to 2.0%. so only select ppl got that 3%.
  6. just experienced that back in May/April. Except they mentioned nobody was getting anything over 3% and that the excess profit was being put into new equipment (yet to be seen) and then a ridiculous amount was put into carpets and floor cleaning...as well as some new flower beds and trees... I feel ya here, and it blows. I have a few complaints, but I can't share them for a variety of reasons. In a few weeks (no more than a month) I'll be able to share the news, but for now, I must keep it to myself.
  7. Great summary NS as usual.
  8. that's what I gathered. my brain almost exploded after 35 seconds.
  9. There's been multiple reports out there all quoting the same source for the $1.3B bid. Nobody is reporting anything for the other two bids. seems odd to me. I'd really like to know where TP stands in relation to NJ rat's bid.
  10. we were just talking about this in our lab. He collapsed shortly after getting off a plane. yay... CDC says they "aren't too concerned of it spreading here." if you read the CNN article they give some BS company line. It's a legitimate issue to be afraid of.
  11. I did a little research on that, and they explored the sites something like 12 - 18 months ago, however, it still hurts their cause (which is good IMHO). I really hope the new owner doesn't preach the importance of the team to WNY and then up and leave in the middle of the night in 2020 ala Baltimore.
  12. exactly. If he gets his act together, he'll be one of, if not the best DT in the league over the next few years. between his ability to rush the passer and stuff the run, the kids got it all. Like eleven said, there is a reason they are being this patient.
  13. I taught my fiance how to use a gun, and then gifted to her my first shotgun (Remington 870 express 20 ga). We have a pit bull/retriever mix for a dog. I don't need a security system. If you get passed the dog when I'm not around, you can have the stuff. typically, someone cannot get in the door without me commanding him to heel, or sit. he doesn't like unannounced strangers (just ask the propane delivery man that thought it would be ok to open the screen door when the front door was open (we were in the back hallway)). Dog was not happy. Once he knows you're ok, he's fine with people. He's not aggressive in public though. only at home. just the way I like him to be. (also, he loves kids, once I tell him they are ok at his house. In public, he has licked more little kids that have come up to pet him than I can count).
  14. It's on FX. I finally watched the series premiere last night, and will watch last night's episode tonight. It was pretty interesting. the Fiance and I like it so far.
  15. hahaha never gets old!
  16. Late to the party...but KNURLIN' MERL!!! haha!! throwback...hello!
  17. I get what you're trying to say, but I disagree. Jeter has been something that most other players cannot achieve: consistent at the plate and in the field for 20 years straight. Not the best at his position over those 20 years, but consistent. You always know what you're getting. He has won multiple championships, has a great clutch factor (think Drury), and was the face of baseball during a dark time (the PEDs era). He has an equal bit of celebrity and substance I believe. I've grown up loving the Yankees because of my grandfather (he watched the Yankees since the early 50s). Jeter is a class act, very good hitter (base hits win games), and a decent fielder (he doesn't make a ton of errors). He is 9th all time in hits. That itself merits attention.
  18. well played
  19. Good God I am so glad he FINALLY signed. Maybe now ESPN will focus on other things. Did they even do anything for NHL free agency?
  20. my 10 year is next year, and I'm pretty sure I have zero f--ks to give about it. I haven't talked to many people since I left HS. Most of my friends were friends I made at RIT. Those choices may be regrettable though. I mean, that is where I met D4rk :nana:
  21. I really hope people don't need to see any throat sliced moments again. I agree
  22. my team has two deadlines to meet next week, and all of my stuff is almost done. So I took next week off so the team can figure things out for themselves. Zero F--ks given.
  23. That's an interesting format. I could live with it. Also a good thing I would imagine.
