Amen to those

I had an amazing weekend with the wife and some friends up on the lake in New Hampshire, and couldn't have asked for better weather to just enjoy the lake, good food, great friends, and drinks.

no, from what I've seen, they released him so he had more time to latch on with another team. Two people have predicted Cleveland of all places. Pettine is a fan, and their backfield is a bit of a mess.

Just saw the tweet. WTF?

my draft last night did not go so well :( hopefully this one is better.

HAHA that's awesome!

Keep your head Bio! the right offer will come!

I had to think about it, but shootings in Syracuse get local news coverage, maybe a minute or less, but they're breezed over. I do agree with your sentiment. This is a great discussion.

HAHAHA!

ok. better start. I still believe there should be gun free zones (i.e. schools, playgrounds, churches (who needs a gun in church?), etc.), but there in lies the rub. How do we prevent people (nutjobs) from taking advantage of them? Yes

you're picking stats there. Murder isn't the only crime on there that could involve a gun. Bigger picture: all violent crime decreased per the stats he showed. just saying. To answer your question, first, what do you mean by 'good or bad'? They are good in that guns aren't supposed to be there, but bad in that the GFZs are where a majority of these shootings take place. what else is there to answer there? what point are you getting at? I'm just curious, not attacking or anything.

haha thanks man. I get told I'm abnormal by my mrs all the time lol (EDIT: mostly because of my devotion to my Buffalo sports teams...it's how she knew I'd be perfect for her though).

the 1990 TV miniseries, yes. sorry, not 'movie' per say haha.If I'm not mistaken Tim Curry played the clown.

I was more mature when I got to college than my age suggested, but I was 16 when I got to college (turned 17 two weeks in). 18, my sophomore year, I took a turn for the worse, almost got my scholarships revoked. by 21 I was much more mature. Maybe it was a product of my being in college too early, but I saw a larger difference between 18 and 21 than 21 and 25. There was still a maturation process between 21 and 25, but a lot more of that was due to being laid off two years out into the real world, and doing adult things (ala first new car, student loans, credit card, etc.).

Now this is a great point actually, and I would love to hear thoughts on that.

Ain't that the truth man! I saw the movie when I was younger, with my mom, and after I was scared poopless from the movie, she made me read the book (my mom always made me read the book if there was a movie made from a book, and I wanted to see the movie...good culturing looking back now). The book scared me worse lol!

I don't know here man. I think there is a big difference amongst men at 18 versus 21. I know there was a big difference for me and my life priorities between 18 and 21.

This is some good stuff gentlemen, and I'm all about it.

About to buy it for a friend of mine who is a ref.

That is a great post D4rk. I love my guns. I also love the fact that I have a right to them in our constitution. I don't like how easy it is for a lot of people around the US to get a gun. just like the quote you posted, I agree that our mental health care system is failing the US, and we need to find a balance with gun control. I'm all for being able to keep my guns, because , I like them. But I wouldn't mind having to go thru a psych eval or a thorough background check including my mental health history. I'm all for measures to ensure that legal gun owners remain as such, but people that are mentally deranged (most of the shootings you hear about nowadays) can't easily get a gun.

I'm still waiting on my pistol permit (Tompkins county....Yay...). I spec'd out one or two guns that I really want (based on handling a friends). I loved the Beretta he had (and the model has slipped my mind at the moment, but it's written down at home), and the Sig he has. I didn't mind shooting his glock, but it wasn't a first choice of mine.

exactly what I was thinking... :P

I just read the article. Pretty impressed by her. Also - didn't realize she graduated from the same high school as me (albeit she was only there for her senior year). pretty cool stuff.

to be fair, your responses regarding this issue can be a little pointed. Just an outsiders point of view. Carry on gentlemen. and ladies.
