June 10, 2006 Fushetti really hates that the Carolina Hurricanes are in the Stanley Cup Finals. If they win, he will not acknowledge their victory since no team from Hartford is entitled to win anything. -

That Primeau goal was practically fired from the goalline. I went apeshit after that one... -

PA, wasn't Mogilny's leg broken in Game 1 as well? -

April 30, 2006 Ryan Miller blanks the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0 to take a 3 games to 2 lead in their first round series at HSBC Arena. Tim Connolly scores a highlight reel power play goal in the first that proves to be the winner and Fushetti gets his pepsi knocked over by a fan going to get beer. -

One of the greatest moments ever at a playoff hockey game for me. I've seen a few game winners in OT in the playoffs...but that was was really good. I can still see him come out from behind the net and shoot it in. Hasek doing that snowangel or whatever was fantastic. -

"now Tucker, here he comes, in on Moooooog with the breakaway. Tucker going in SHOOTS HE SCOOOORES! JOHN TUCKER! AND THE SABRES TAKE A 4-2 LEAD! TUCKER WITH THE HAT TRICK!" My favorite Ted Darling call. Anyone have this game on VHS? -

Never felt so bad after a regular season loss as I did this one. Basically playing for home ice against the very team youre facing in the playoffs. Roman Cechmanek was superhuman against Buffalo that year. My feeling was if we lost home ice it was bye bye for us. Well, we all know what happened. SABRES IN 6! -

He went to LA. had a mediocre season and was out of hockey in 2 years. Plus, thats when the Sabres traded Dom and started their freefall. That was an exciting season though reacquiring Audette and getting Heinze. -

Yep first shot. Not sure on the first shift. I think he also had an assist that night giving him a 2 point night.. the best game of his career. I can still hear Darling calling him "Robert Ray" -
Amen. I'm hoping for an all out spanking of Tampa Bay since there is no pressure or jitters about being traded.

Ahhh Memories. I was listening to that game on radio and delivering pizzas that day. That game was at MCI Center and I do believe that Ollie the Goalie was in goal. -

Eh, Muni was at the tail end of his career. Grosek and Shannon were integral parts of the next few years for Buffalo. Grosek was a machine in the playoff run of 1997-98. Shannon was decent in his years there. -

This goal spurned the famous call of "HOLY ZHITNIK" by our good friend and constipated cow John Gurtler. Shortly after that Charlie Huddy scored and he laid this nugget on us "HOWDY DOODY HUDDY" God, he was horrible. -

All my money is on Dom retiring back to the Czech republic cuz his brats need to learn the ways of the Czech people. Theyre becoming too North American for his liking. -

PA, Golisano transformed an organization with just bad overall culture and has made it a winner. I dunno when the last trip up to a game from Bradford was, but going to a game this year and even in 03-04 as opposed to the games in the late 90's early 2000's have a different feel. Its almost as the Sabres are embracing their fans and making the team more accessible. Example number 1 is the Sabres website. Its far and away better than the crap churned out there in previous regimes. Variable ticket prices is another example. Overall, my point is, PR for the Sabres has been vastly improved. -

I don't remember that game at all, the sabres that is. However, the next few years on Super Bowl Sunday the Sabres hosted Winnipeg and Edmonton in matinee games and then the Bills promptly lost to the Redskins and Cowboys respectively. I attended both of those games. I remember them playing the Shout! song and stenciling GO BILLS in Bills font inside the blue lines. -

PA, how can you forget a little tidbit of history on Jan 27, 1991? Buffalo Bills kicker Scott Norwood misses 47 yard field goal to win Super Bowl XXV. The missed kick gives the NY Giants a 20-19 victory and serves as a harbinger of things to come for the Bills in the Super Bowl. Fans across WNY run to local watering holes to drink the pain away. -

Were three of the games in that playoff series ended in overtime? I remember in the following series against MTL that every game was 4-3. Sweeney, Khymylev, and May. I loved Jeanneret screaming "DAAAAAALE HAWERCHUK. DAAAAALE HAWERCHUK!!" when it was Khymylev who actually scored.
