They should be looking to move on from Rosen, impo.

https://eprinkside.com/2024/10/03/reviewing-the-performance-of-top-nhl-prospects-in-the-preseason Other notes, they mention that Rosen is probably someone who needs to be traded due to Buffalo's logjam. Kulich they like but see no issue with him playing in Rochester as a 20yr old since most AHL rookies are 20. They liked Helenius but want him to get a full AHL year because he is adjusting to the physicality of the AHL/NA game.

Yea, he's been bad. Never did much after leaving

Y'all want a goalie? Have I got a guy for you...

Athletic projects Buffalo to 89points this season but notes that coaching could have a big impact on that. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5786651/2024/10/02/buffalo-sabres-2024-25-season-preview-playoff-chances-projected-points-roster-rankings/?source=tw_c_buf

Yet just about every Lohrei metric is worse than Power but because he's a Bruin, he's better. And your justification is "trust me." At Even Strength Owen Power absolutely wrecks Lohrei while also playing tougher minutes being 2 years younger and being on what was a worse team defensively overall. I truly cannot believe in 2024 I have to defend that Owen freaking Power is better at hockey than Mason Lohrei.
-
As I said, you prefer the style of how Lohrei plays defense. Owen Power by any metric we want, has been better though.
-
I just don't believe one guys internet opinion when it's not backed by anything other than "because I said so" from your end.

You know what's crazy, that you know the sections of the CBA this well. I will believe you, I just don't think Buffalo would make that move though.
-
It isn't happening so don't worry about it.
-
Our 2nd line will be good. Potentially very very good. Benson Cozens Quinn will be fine.
-
I don't believe you. Especially when I can see that Lohrei had more giveaways in half as many games. Also Owen Power is really well rounded. I think you have blinders on because Power isn't physical. He still is very good positionally and is an excellent passer. I don't usually worry about Power in his own end or on offense. Lohrei plays on the 3rd pair and only has 41 nhl games. We'll see how each does this year.

But they'd have to dip into the AHL affiliate first. If the team doesn't have an NHL affiliated goalie, aka no one in the AHL is available. So every goalie but 1 would have to be injured from Buffalo and Rochester and then Buffalo could callup Ratzlaff. That's always been my understanding of the rule. They can't just ignore Sandstrom and call up Ratzlaff

They can't recall him until his CHL season ends. I'm fairly certain I've read that before. Once he's assigned to the WHL, that's where he plays. Also, I don't think scenario has even the remote possibility of happening. They'll send Levi down and have him play when UPL needs a rest. I don't think they'll waive Reimer.
-
No he isn't. He hasn't signed a contract. I just checked EP again.

Ratzlaff is 19, plays in the WHL so not Rochester eligible, and isn't even signed to his elc. He's not an option.
