ik in the grand scheme JBD isn't that important but when there is a bad process, it is a symptom of the rot.

I think when Adams likes a guys personality and meshes with him, he cannot separate that from how good or bad they are as a hockey player.

I think this is nonsense. The cap is going up to 7 million ish next year and you already account for 4.75 for Tuch's current deal so you only need to find 4million for his next one... okay that leaves you 3million of that 7mill increase and there's Kesselring's money. Sabres only have 60 million tied up in contracts already for next year. And on top of alllllll of that, if you signed Byram to 7.5mil x 7yrs you could literally trade him if needed next summer. Only a chicken ***** like Adams is worried about paying players next year when he can't even ice a competitive team this year.
