  1. The NYI finished ahead of Buffalo last year. Would you rather be the NYI with their prospect pool or Buffalo with there's?
  2. There's a really simple solution to this. Fillable and signable pdf. If you can sign a mortgage digitally you can sign a NHL contract.
  3. Not that we care but Bader ranked us 7th. He ranked the goaltending at 25th which is beyond laughable.
  4. The Jack Eichel trade. Top prospect (krebs), good young forward (tuch), and a 1st and 2nd round pick. So Quinn (prospect), Cozens(young forward), and a 1st is a good starting point. Oh realizing you meant the bold, my bad.
  5. Reinhart has a career sh% of 13.6 and has scored 22 or more goals in every single season except his sophomore campaign. Krebs potentially has a good sh% but we won't really know until this year plays out. Not enough data yet.
  6. This is a good point. Krebs was not a goal scorer going all the way back to u18 AAA so we shouldn't expect him to do it here. I have a lot of concerns with Krebs and I don't view him as a center currently. Krebs - Mitts - Quinn might be a line that works but I think you need to pair Krebs with some additional talent that is really good at shooting.
  7. Sure they can but he's not making the Sabres.
  8. Alternative Skinner - tnt - Olofsson Krebs - Cozens - Tuch Quinn - Mitts - Okposo Zemgus/Hinostroza - Asplund- JJP
  9. That 4th line will get caved in. Skinner-Tnt-Olofsson Quinn - Mitts - Tuch Asplund - Cozens - JJP Hinostroza - Krebs - Okposo Zemgus is the spare for whichever of the 3 kids, Krebs, Quinn or JJP need a night. Could flip Quinn and Krebs and make asplund the 4th center.
  10. Really quick. Kyle Okposo did not flatline. He went from 1.6pts/60 to 2.2 at all strengths.
  11. Östlund will be in Europe. Idk about Kulich at this point.
  12. At even strength, he went from 1.4pt/60 to 1.6pts/60 so he's got some work to do. I think a line of Asplund - Cozens - someone else would be very good. I'd expect 50pts for Cozens as reasonable. Typically the 3rd year is when you see a jump for players but we'll see.
  13. You know what's funny? PA is saying it doesn't matter while showing us in 2019 we were ranked near the top but that would mean 2021 and 2022 are when those guys should start mattering on the nhl roster. Anyways I digress. We have a top prospect system.
  14. I expect the Sabres to destroy the Bruins prospects.
  15. So then he's not good at these things? Good means getting possession back.
  16. Yes, you could easily argue that PA was comparing the 2014 pool to now. You just named them and I filled in the other side of the comparison. This has been a truly strange interaction. I'm not offended, I'm not really arguing a point other than A doesn't equal B which I think you also agree with. Truly a bizarre defense I've had to mount over a very casual look at prospect pools.
  17. Here's the thread. Again, you brought up those 4 and I carried on the conversation. Only thing I find offensive is this weird gaslighting attempt to draw me into some argument that other than PA, no one is having.
  18. You're trying to start an argument and I don't really understand why. I responded to your post because it was the most recent one discussing the 4 players I started my post with: Baptiste, Bailey, Carrier, and Fasching. It was the natural progression of that conversation to query if we really should compare that level of prospect to the 4 1st rounders. I then listed other players we currently have who are roughly on the level of the 2015 pool. "Hell" in that context was used as a way of expressing surprise. Hell, insert thing we forgot to this point. Again, you seem to have taken exception and you seem to want to argue. Sabres pool now is better than 2015, not sure there's a debate there from anyone. Was just fleshing out some points around the pool then versus now. Not sure why you've spent 2 posts accusing me of "being offended" or "taking exception to" or throwing in "be so kind to". Just really weird considering no one is doing any of those. You were clearly offended though as evidence by whatever this is. Again really weird because I don't think anyone is arguing different sides.
  19. Is Copp going to be better than Cozens in 2022? Cozens at 20 in his 2nd season produced at 65% of what Copp did on a ppg basis. Will Copp stay at his .74ppg pace? Will Cozens improve his? Copp had 1.9pts/60 with Winnipeg and 2.3pts/60 when you average in his nyr time. Cozens had 1.8pts/60 for Buffalo. Again, can Cozens improve and if he does wouldn't that equal the Copp move potential? Just an example of how I'm thinking about the 3 rosters going into 2022. Another example, is Ben Chairot better than Samuelsson? Is Olli Maatta better than Lyubushkin? Will Power be better than Hronek? Is Seider better than Dahlin, by how much?
  20. But Detroit added Ben Chariot, who in Buffalo can compare to Ben Chairots 20 points a season!?!?!!??
  21. I'm not taking exception to anything. I'm comparing the 4 players mentioned to our current prospect pool. I'm not arguing against anything other than the Sabres pool in 2015 wasn't as good as the pool in 2022 so we shouldn't assume similar results. You seem offended over nothing.
  22. That's okay. It's like how the popular narrative is Krebs is good and a center where I didn't see that last year. I saw a pass first winger who needed to work on every part of his game.
  23. Yea but are we really comparing Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching, and Carrier to Kulich, Östlund, Savoie, and Rosen? Not to mention that was basically it, those 4 needed to hit. I can name another 4 or 8 right now in this pool outside of the 4 1st round guys. Poltapov, Kisakov, Peterka, Neuchev, Kozak, Rousek, etc... that are at or above the level of those other 4. Hell, I didn't even mention jack quinn. It's not the same. The skill level, the development team in place, the number of options, the fact we draft smarter. It could turn out the same but I doubt that. Just because something happened that's surface level similar, doesn't make this the same.
  24. The Sabres being good and the prospect pool being good are not synonymous. There's lag there but again, you'd be really hard pressed to find a prospect system as deep as Buffalo. Anaheim has a good system with some depth, Mason McTavish, Pavel Mintyukov, Jacob Perrault are all good. Zellweger, Warren, Luneau, Gaucher, Colangelo, Pastujov, Tracey, Thrun are all interesting at the very least. Carolina is okay but Seth Jarvis is no longer a prospect so they lack that high end guy although Trikozov and Koivunen are solid. Blackhawks are where Buffalo was in 2021, Korchinski, Nazar are good but they need another draft to add depth. Blue Jackets are decent but Sillinger isn't a prospect anymore. I think they have about 4-5 really good pieces and they could probably match Buffalo, outside of our goalie prospects, at the top with Jiricek, K. Johnson, Mateychuk, Sillinger all part of the system. Dallas is interesting. They don't have the depth but they have Wyatt Johnston, Logan Stankoven, abs Mavrik Bourque who all lead their leagues so some high end there but not the depth. Kings could probably beat Buffalo in defensive depth but not forward depth or talent anymore. Love the Wild 2022 draft. That said, there isn't quite the depth of the Sabres especially in high end guys. Montreal drafted Mailoux, they can ***** off. The NYI... lol. Lou is running that team into the ground. Sharks have depth in the system but not high end depth. Östlund is basically a poor man's Eklund at this point and after that, we have multiple forward prospects I'd rank over their next guy. Vegas... I've never seen a team run so poorly except maybe the Sabres or Yotes. They just crap away 1st round picks and good prospects. That's it really. I think the Blue Jackets, with Sillinger, and Anaheim are the two systems that could be compared right now in 2022 to Buffalo with an honorable mention to Dallas. If I was forced to rank them... Buffalo/Anaheim 1a and 1b Columbus 2 Dallas 3
  25. Idk, Jokiharju regressed a little last year. I think Johnson can be better defensively than Joker but I guess we'll have to wait and see. It was never questioning Johnson as much as questioning taking him over say Kaliyev.
