Only thing Kozak really seems to lack is deception/manipulation ability.

In the deep 2023 draft we have our 1st and 3 2nd rounders including Phillies. Lots more talent coming in the next draft too.

Leslie Frazier plays not to lose. He never plays to win. Nope but the Bills don't have the killer instincts to destroy teams in close games. They choke again and again and again. They've lost something like 8 one score games in a row.

There is a ton of puck movement from Buffalo in the offensive zone. Lots of cutting low and dishing things middle, quick cuts to the slot and aiming for deflections, cross ice passes too. Very dynamic offensive movement and that is a good thing. Kozak might not go back to the WHL this year, I am start to believe he shouldn't. That is pretty impressive from a 7th round guy (he was picked with the first pick of the 7th). UPL was fine in this one. No complaints except the 2nd goal I think on the screen that leaked through. Dylan Cozens has something to prove this year or at least thats how he is playing. On the OT goal I have to complain about Krebs. He follows Pilut around to the outside then stops high in the zone which sure he gives Pilut a back pass to him, but if he stops earlier and goes into the high slot he makes himself available for a scoring chance and creates a mini 2v1. Just something I noticed that bothered me but considering Pilut had a beautiful assist to Hinostroza, didn't really matter.

After they ran Moss up the gut on back to back plays and that directly led to a 3rd and long that became of a fumble, I am serious doubts about the offensive playcalling. They line up Allen 5yrds off the line of scrimmage and then run a slow developing option when the ball is at the 1yrd line but will run a bad RB up the gut from their own 20? It makes no sense and we never need to see Moss out there. Put in singletary and use him, moss and his 2yd runs into his own o line are awful to watch. Before someone brings up his long outside run, that's because he didn't get touched and had no read to make. Moss is basically useless if you aren't going to let him plow into the endzone from the 1.

Hold up. There is a bunch of talk about the SEC playing games in the south in hot temps which is true but a college team has something like 82 players dressed and eligible to play on gameday. College teams tend to rotate a lot more and they have a lot more depth if issues arise. Also also, you do acclimatize to some extent to those temperatures and humidity just like we in Buffalo notice the cold less. SEC having 82 players on each sideline though really changes the equation.

The coaches cost us this game. Missing players is an excuse when you lose by 2 and leave 20 points on the field. Bad playcalling and guys clearly not ready to go.

There mindset is what Granato stated. Success and winning are not the same thing, he clearly elaborated on that too. Success is doing all the things in practice and off ice to be successful on the ice. Winning comes from that process.

We'll need Allen and Diggs more than usual today.

Where we drafted Östlund is fine. He's a very good player and getting minutes at center is awesome.

The Allsvenskan is the league below the SHL. Östlund saw his SHL team relegated last season. Good news is that's the league and level he probably needs.

I thought I read that the Blue team gets the first game and Gold the second and then they start cuts but I can't find anything on it now so I might be full of it.

1) No we didn't. Samuelsson at worst is a 2nd pairing d and the same goes for Power. Boosh is a 2nd pairing d. So between Dahlin, Power, Muel, and Boosh we have a solid top 4. You don't like it because it isn't some old vet like Chairot or the like. Barf, I would rather Power play 25min a night than let Chairot or the equivalent on my team. 2) Name any C on the roster, they are all better than Eakin. Cozens is already producing and playing at a 3c level and that is if he does almost no improving. So I don't agree here. Why would we want to bring in some 29yr old 3c to take ice away from Cozens, Mitts, Krebs, or even Asplund? Doesn't make a lot of sense. They have Sheahan as the Eakin replacement, aka 4th line filler. So of the 3 things you think we need or we are "soft tanking" which is a awful term, we got a goalie in Comrie, we don't need to get a 2nd pairing defender because we did in Boosh (you can argue allllll day he isn't but they are going to play him with Power and let Power produce the offense on that 2nd pair), and the 4c is a laughable need because I can name 4 guys that can fill that role including Zemgus. You just don't like the moves adams made, it is as simple as that. There is no tanking going on and yes I think Adams believes this team is on the threshold of making the playoffs but he knows it may wait until next year when the could potentially add Savoie, Kulich, Ryan Johnson, and Devon Levi to the mix.

The term is dumb. You can't "soft tank" and the description of what ppl are saying that term means is basically every single team that isn't spending to the cap and dumping first round picks to go 100% all in is soft tanking. I think that is awful.

At this point Okposo is basically Roy Kent. Doesn't matter if you give him the C, he's still the heart of the team's leadership.

I enjoy Kevyn Adams press conferences very much. He said a lot of far more interesting things than the owners son gets to sit at the draft table.

Last year they didn't do that and I don't expect it this year. We'll see something like 26, 24, 10. They're young and can take it.
