  1. NO chance. Mitts or Cozens will be centering the 2nd line (2nd line based on TOI). I actually like Okposo with Savoie but wish Mitts was getting time with Tuch. The Muel - Dahlin pairing and the Skinner - Thompson pairing seem set in stone for the moment.
  2. Kyle Okposo is also taking part in the morning skate. Might be the 13th forward in case someone gets injured in warmups or can't go.
  3. Sabres morning skate is underway so should have lines shortly.
  4. I am unsure. I know that was the case for this season but maybe there is an artificial cap for next year too to help fix escrow which the players HATE.
  5. I only paid attention to parts of that game due to the Bills so idk. RochesterXpat might have a better thought on it.
  6. I think we could see a decent jump next season because all the Seattle Revenue has basically never been accounted for.
  7. I would guess they want Savoie to get the experience since he is going back to juniors. Davies they are trying to decide where he fits in the depth order and the same goes for Pilut. Basically who is the first callup, Pilut or Davies?
  8. Right, there has to be some structure but maybe that only applies in the defensive zone. First forward back is the C for all assignments but once the puck exits the zone you should move up the ice as your position if possible. I think they want the C forward protecting the slot with the wingers more free to get backs and the like. Then in the ozone, the C is supposed to be in the slot area or covering at the point if a defender pinches where the wings are on the walls or behind the net (in all cases you can switch that up depending on flow). Will be interesting to watch this season and the first preseason game showed a lot of movement in the offensive zone. This. Alllllll of this.
  9. West Coast being... Vancouver, Seattle, Anaheim, LA, and San Jose, I am assuming.
  10. Let's guess lines! Skinner - Thompson - Rousek (they will split Tuch out to give another line more veteran presence) Cederqvist - Savoie - Rosen Weissbach - Mitts - Tuch Zemgus - Biro - Olischefski Muel - Dahlin Power - Boosh Pilut - Joker Lindgren - Davies Those are my random guesses at lines.
  11. Was actually listening to Sabres Live the other day and Biron was talking about how outside of faceoffs and some minor things, the center is really just whichever forward is the 2nd to enter the zone and the first to exit it or something like that. Basically you rotate in or out depending on the flow of the shift as opposed to rigidly sticking to your spot. Considering all the talk of Wingers at Center, this seems right.
  12. Flyers roster for tonight. Pregame skate is at 10am for them so I would expect lines then. https://www.nhl.com/flyers/news/927-preseason-game-roster-flyers--sabres/c-335815468 Maybe I am wrong, let me double check.
  13. There is no excuse to lose to the flyers in preseason or the regular season. That team is a dumpster fire.
  14. This is probably the most appropriate thread for the conversation. Krebs ability to pass is nice but the problem is that is a one trick pony type of thing. Teams will know to shade towards the passing option and Krebs will have to develop additional deception to be effective long term. A lot you are bringing up the AHL and his playoff performance which is a reason I still hope he can transition to center and Granato may start him there but his overall game away from the puck needs improvements. He passes great for sure but idk what else he is truly bringing to the table and hope to get that more defined in his sophomore season.
  15. I like Krebs, I just think he was not very good in Buffalo last year as a rookie. So I need more improvement than most here.
  16. Lol. And no it's a bad comparison. It's the equivalent of saying young qb who is struggling is just like Josh Allen. He doesn't but maybe one day. Krebs has a lot to prove this year. Is he a top 6 forward or a middle 6 guy, we'll find out.
  17. This is a very bad comparison. Why is he suited to play center over wing?
  18. Krebs was bad last year but no one really wants to talk about it. I want to see him prove he can be a reliable winger before we start penciling him in for center.
  19. I'll keep saying it, Krebs isn't a center. Not yet at least.
  20. No he won't. They aren't going to bring UPL up to sit on a bench. Adams said as much.
  21. He was an underweight kid who only got 18 games in his draft year due to injury and then a covid shutdown. He's just a guy who probably would have gone higher in his draft year if not for the covid shortened season, a lot of teams only had limited looks at guys to make decisions.
  22. The Sabres need to start worrying July 1 because that's when they can look to sign several RFAs as well as offer deals to guys with 1 year left such as Power and Dahlin. Cozens, Asplund, and Samuelsson will have new more expensive contracts going into next season. Mitts, Krebs, Dahlin, Power, Joker, and Bryson all have 2 years until they need new deals so we are rapidly reaching a point of having to care about the cap again. Tage will be adding over 5.5mil more to the cap next season already.
