Yes there are exceptions to rules. Predicting based on scheduling is not that perplexing. A team coming off of 2+ rest days versus a team playing the 2nd of back to back is more likely to win according to the numbers. Again, you are saying "what about the exceptions!" and my response is, what about them? Buffalo needs to show up and win the game and they have an advantage to do so. -
Kane last year was at 41.9cf% at 5v5. His possession quality was -16(xgf-xga). Without his pp numbers, he was really bad last year. If you plan to add him, you are basically swapping him for Olofsson.
-
Translation: I was wrong about the Mitts thing so I am backing out of that conversation. You think fighting is a "big part" of the game?
-
What do Kane's analytics look like from last year?
-
Get back to me when we're healthy and doing it. You have no logic behind your Mitts panic. Dude's BFF is Dahlin and he's been given lots of love by this staff and coach. The reason other teams don't run 3 offensive lines is because they can't. A shutdown line is cheaper. I also think it's a fallacy to assume a scoring line can't be a shutdown line.
-
Agreed

Good news, Montreal beat Detroit in OT
-
Good news, Ottawa lost. Bad news, Montreal and Detroit are in OT
-
Yes, it is. Wolf is happening. Imagine better Levi. You're far too obsessed with 3c shutdown stuff. We're going to be able to run 3 lines that will be 2nd line or better. The 4th line can be a shutdown line. No reason to move Mitts out or Cozens to the wing.
-
Just sign him and if you have to trade someone later, you do it.
-
I don't. I think we have way more F injuries right now and that's why it seems that way. As noted we have Quinn, Cozens, and Tuch out and if we even had Samuelsson and Power out we would be in trouble.
-
I'd be shocked if he did unless force fed ice time. League knows his game now, they know he's a 1 trick pony.
-
Benson should go back to Jr's imo. But yes, currently injured.
-
Not just Cozens being out. Quinn and Tuch are also out. That's an entire top 6 line sidelined. Think of how good the lines get if we do this... Skinner- Thompson-savoie Greenway-mitts-quinn Jjp-cozens-tuch

The Elephant In the Sabres' Room: Fixing the Power Play
LGR4GM replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
The one that had hip surgery and isn't even cleared to play in games yet? That one? Sure, as long as Olofsson is waived because if not you are adding another specialist with limited 2-way game abilities. -
Sportico Releases NHL Franchise Valuations Sabres are 30th

You need to look at this the way Billionaires do. It isn't about Buffalo being worth 900 million, it is about how much value you get from that investment year over year. Pegula bought the team for a ton less than what it is worth. It will be worth a ton more next year and the one after because sports franchises are rarities. If I buy a commodity that increases by 15-30% year over year that is a great investment. -
Matthew Savoie, Jiri Kulich, and Zach Benson do not play hockey the same way and are not similar. Their entry level deals will all end in 3 (4 really) years regardless (sure we could slide Benson's 1 additional year), what is Adams supposed to do? Sign them to not entry level deals?

The article is good but the mainpoint is the zone map here showing you where shots come from most and where shots score from most.

Most players, Casey and Tage for example have their breakouts around the 150-200 game mark. Krebs is right in there and so far the returns are meh. I think it is important that Buffalo has so many prospects because Krebs should be feeling the push. Benson has more points than him this season and Kulich, Rosen, and Savoie are all in the mix. You don't have to keep Krebs but you also dont have to get rid of him. I think by the end of this season we will now which we should do. And we never heard from Bryson again. -
As I said in another thread, we are rapidly approaching a point where we need to seriously consider Krebs future and what that is.
