  1. Yes it resonated as confirmation bias. Tuch returned and we won so it must be him. I don't believe that.
  2. It has to do with the common thread around here that "maybe, idk, kinda, if we have to, we can give Dahlin an A but he's not a leader" which seems to be cropping up. Dahlin already has an A. They aren't taking it away. No, it provided confirmation bias here. Everyone forgets the games Dahlin missed too.
  3. Do ppl not realize that Dahlin is already an assistant? He already has an A.
  4. Two things to keep in mind. Dahlin would have to agree to sign any sheet. I don't see that from him, he's not cut throat like that. Second, he would also have to get to RFA which seems unlikely. Signing him long term this summer is undoubtedly a priority.
  5. He's been okay if I consider him a 3rd line winger. Pk skills seem okay. He needs to be quicker in short areas.
  6. What a ridiculous comparison. Hart isn't good, I don't want him that badly. Not badly enough to trade multiple high end assets for. They want a 2nd in 2025, fine sure. Again you don't wanna talk about anything other than Hart. You think he's good, I don't.
  7. If he's available. Really depends on what Nashville plans to do this summer. I'd trade for Swayman or offer sheet him.
  8. Poile is retiring and if we're going to overpay, Saros is a far better idea than Hart.
  9. Saros I did saros. For Rosen, 2024 1st, and something else. Okay so I'm only allowed to suggest players you approve of even though I specifically stated that if Nashville rebuilds, I would ask on Saros since they have Askorov. Got it. Good talk. Basically you should change the title to "let's trade for hart"
  10. You're not going to need to wait 5 years for Quinn.
  11. Then you're ignoring the reasons why there's a surface level similarity by doing that.
  12. And I don't think Hart is a good enough upgrade. I provided an alternative and why he might be on time market this summer but that wasn't good enough for your thread.
  13. Good read what I wrote again
  14. It isn't the assets, it is are you using them to trade for the a serious upgrade? Hart to me looks like an upgrade but not a really great one. If I am going to spend Rosen, a 2nd and something else, I need something more than Hart. It isn't about winning the trade per say but that Hart just isn't enough of an upgrade. For example if Nashville calls and says, we want Rosen, 2024 1st, 2023 2nd, and *insert rochester guy like Weisbach here* I am pulling that trigger. I think it is an overpayment but idc.
  15. Saros would be the goalie I would try and target. If Nashville is rebuilding, they can get some assets for him as they won't be ready to contend again with him on this current deal. They also have Askarov in the pipe so it depends on where they see themselves the next 2 years and what they want. Rosen, a 2nd, and something else would be fine. We already gave them Asplund so maybe that helps.
  16. No. No but in bold My supposition is you can only trade that asset once so you better make sure you trade it for the correct thing and Carter Hart is not it.
  17. We would get destroyed night in and night out. The goalie position has probably undergone the single most advancement since 1983. Buffalo would give up 10 a night.
  18. Im arguing against what you said. Jack Quick does not get knocked off pucks easily. I think that deflected off the defender and he was trying to shoot far side. Maybe it was a pass, hard to tell but here is the clip.
  19. Not really. Arizona has 1 player above 46 points an that is Clayton Keller at 69pts. Buffalo has 5 players over 46 points and all 5 of those players are signed to long term deals. Arizona's best U23 defender is Victor Sodestrom. At 22 he has 5pts in 15 NHL games. Buffalo's best U23 defender is Dahlin and their 2nd best is Power. Power has 26pts in 63 games as a 20yr old. Arizona forfeited a pick in 2022 draft because of cheating... Buffalo didn't. The Sabres 2022 draft is better IMPO. Arizona took Cooley, Geekie, and Lamoureux in the first round and I could argue that only Cooley is better or on par with Savoie and that Östlund and Kulich easily slot above the other two. Arizona is about 2 years behind where Buffalo is to be honest so no, I don't think it is somewhere in the middle. I think it more likely is 20% as opposed to 50% similar.
  20. No you are wrong and I know you are because I watch the games.
  21. This is so frustrating to deal with over and over again. They did cut payroll to the bone in 2020 during the pandemic and every year since then they have added to the org. The Sabres scouting staff and analytics staff is one of the biggest in the league again. The reason they don't have to spend to the cap is because most of their talent is young and hasn't started their second deals or just broke out in the last 2 years and hasn't started their post breakout deals. Comparing Buffalo, an org that is already given out long term high dollar deals and will do so again this summer to Arizona who plays in a NCAA arean is just a lazy surface level comparison IMPO. It is almost as though ppl forget going into the 2021 season (aka last season) the Sabres were in the process of trading Eichel and starting a rebuild which clearly has done pretty decent considering only a year later we are hovering near the playoffs, have a 40+ goal scorer, and a Norris candidate.
  22. So what you are saying is, what I said was correct. It is a myth that Jack Quinn gives up easily.
