  1. Those conservations on this board, I always thought were premature but since I got flak for saying Dahlin was still going to be a superstar, Krueger was garbage. Dahlin has and will continue to be one of, if not, the best defencemen in the national hockey league.
  2. I actually know where great skate is and could get their easily.
  3. Im not allowed to buy current Buffalo Sabres' jerseys. I have a Myers, Grigorenko, Eichel... so I think my next jersey will be a pommers
  4. You ever think about the fact that Jeff Skinner in 47 games this season has 20g and 50pts but in the 112 games under Roldemort (ik some of those were under Donny) he only had 21g and 53pts? Would we view his contract differently if Roldemort had never been? Should we view his contract as, not good, but at least of approximate value now?
  5. I wonder if they would even have a navy nameplate they could put Power on.
  6. I have a confession. I own a #25 Grigorenko jersey that I bought way back in 2013 because I bought allllll the hype on him. I was young, I had my first real job and I wanted a new jersey. Fast forward to now and wtf am I supposed to do with a Grigorenko jersey? My question is does anyone know of a place that could replace the nameplate with Power keeping in mind the nameplate would have to be Navy not Royal due to the 2013 purchase of said jersey. Please let me know and sorry if this is too off topic.
  7. Thanks for the info. I wonder if the price has dropped just a hair because Arizona, A. wants to finish low in the standings and Chychrun being there doesn't help and B. they want assets to be ready for their big move to their new building so wants to reset now before the deep 2023 draft AND C. hasn't gotten offers close to what they thought they would for Chychrun due to most of the league having cap issues already.
  8. I don't disagree with you. However, I will say that the window is not this season, this year. I think that window could open next year if players progress as we all have seen and currently hope. Next year you gotta start trying to win playoff series. By trying I mean adding outside talent, trading picks or prospects if necessary and really fixing and remaining holes that exist. This season, I think because Power, Quinn, Peterka, and goalie are still growing, you aren't quite ready to hit that accelerator.
  9. I was tempted to agree until I saw he was signed for 4 more years at 4.3million. That is just too much term IMPO for a guy who will be bumped down the roster as prospects come online over the next 3 years. If he had 2 more years after this, sure I am in. 4 is 2 too many for me. He essentially would be the Okposo, Zemgus, 3/4 line winger replacement and idk if I want 4.3mil tied up into that for 4 more seasons is all I am saying especially after we clear the 6mil to Okposo this year that I think some have been unhappy about for awhile.
  10. Here's my Chychrun offer and I think it is low. 2024 1st (top 10 protected), highest of the 2023 2nds (probably phillies around 42), Ryan Johnson, and Isak Rosen. They get essentially 3 first round picks (Johnson, Rosen, and 2024) plus a high second in a deep draft. If Johnson won't sign they still get a 2nd round pick in 2024. I think this is low but it would be my offer to them. I could probably be convinced to swap out an asset such as Ryan Johnson if they don't think he will sign but they do need a LHD prospect. Rosen is expendable with Kulich and Östlund in the pipeline but still offers Arizona a fast winger with 60pt upside if they are patient (which they can afford to be) to play with Bedard or Fantilli or Benson or Smith or Carlsson.
  11. Dylan Cozens ranks 33rd for Centers in the NHL according to capfriendly, for next season (2023), when his contract goes into effect. Here are the 10 below and 17 above him on that caphit list. I have included their age and the amount they are against the cap. I did not look at when any of these deals were signed. Note some of these players may be considered wingers but I went with capfriendly's position designation. Bo Horvat 28 - 8.5mil Sebastian Aho 25 - 8.46mil Roope Hintz 26 - 8.45 Tim Stutzle 21 - 8.35 Thomas Hertl 29 - 8.138mil Robert Thomas 23 - 8.125mil Ryan Johansen 30 - 8mil Jack Hughes 22 - 8mil Logan Couture 34 - 8mil Josh Norris 24 - 7.95mil Nick Suzuki 23 - 7.875mil Evgeny Kuznetsov 32 - 7.8mil Sean Couturier 31 - 7.75mil Elias Petterson 24 - 7.35mil Nico Hischier 24 - 7.25mil Kevin Hayes 31 - 7.143mil Tage Thompson 25 - 7.143mil Dylan Cozens 21 - 7.1mil Nazem Kadri 32 - 7mil Brayden Schenn 31 - 6.5mil Mark Sheifele 30 - 6.125mil Evgeni Malkin 36 - 6.1mil Brock Nelson 31 - 6mil William Karlsson 30 - 5.9mil Vincent Trochek 29 - 5.625mil Andrew Copp 28 - 5.625mil Phillip Denault 30 - 5.5mil Michael Backlund 34 - 5.35mil What does this mean? Dylan Cozens is at the bottom of players under 25 for cap that are even in the rough range we have here. There is no player under 25 between Cozens and #50 on the list either. We should be happy with this as we are seeing the new way of doing business in the NHL, you pay for future production, not past production. Does that mean you are at risk? Yes, all contract carry risk. What is to say that 28yr old Bo Horvat won't suddenly regress to 50pts a year after this one? How is that different than paying Cozens for 60-65pts a year for the same amount of time? My point is we should be happy that we are on the low end of this because we are saving money that can and will be used elsewhere. It is now up to Cozens and Thompson to earn the deals they were given each year.
  12. I don't think we should be using the contract that Cozens will make next season to compare to what a player like MacKinnon will make this season (considering if you aligned his deal with Cozens he makes 12.6mil compared to cozens 7.1 or a difference of 5.5million). What I am saying is we would need the list of centers and salaries for the 2023 season as it is exceedingly unfair to use one players 2023 salary and everyone else pre 2023 salaries.
  13. Really quick, this trade is total garbage. It is one of the worst trade proposals I have seen and the fact a "serious" blog is publishing this shows how little they know the Sabres and how much they overvalue their own junk. It isn't Roy for Malkin but woof is it bad.
  14. I would rather trade for Timo Meier than waste assets on Patrick Kane. He can't score 5v5 and yea Chicago is bad but he also is not helping them at all. Further, we already know the character concerns and the ego that P Kane has and I have no desire to add some strutting vet into that locker room. Anyone talking about putting him on Cozens line is missing the growth that JJP and Quinn are going to do. You don't stifle that for a short term gain unless you are in the Tim Murray school of rushing. I guess what I am saying is I have more faith in JJP and Quinn than I do in Patrick Kane. I would rather give those 2 the time to learn and grow than give Kane money and chicago assets.
  15. If Beane wastes more assets on RB like a 2nd or a 1st than he clearly doesn't get it and needs to go. As I have said repeatedly, this does not matter to me. And it wasn't only injuries, this team had severe flaws.
  16. Depending on this draft and what the Bills do with Edmunds will pretty much determine whether I'll have any faith in Beane left.
  17. If Cozens is only a 60pt forward the life of that contract, it's still a good deal.
  18. Thorny gets it. Undersized guys take a little time.
  19. Impo this is a bad comparison. McDavid signed his deal in 2017 when the cap was 75mil. So with inflation that same deal signed today is 13.695 million when accounting for inflation only. You'd have to use that number and then compare and you're still comparing the best player in hockey which is always dicey.
  20. Point of clarification. If neither player gets any better and they just maintain their current levels, both deals are good and Tage's is robbery.
