Whether he wins the Norris or not, how amazing is it that using just about any measure you feel like (points, eye test, fancy stats) Rasmus Dahlin is the best defender in the NHL?

I think that someone is injured or at least someone can't go. I have a feeling that Bryson might be sitting today but no idea until tonight when they skate again.

Corey Pronman has Oliver Bonk, RHD, 6.2 out of the OHL on his list at #24 also have to add Gavin McCarthy, RHD, 6.2 from the USHL at #30

Rasmus Dahlin is the best overall defender in the NHL. He deserves the Norris.

The Penguins are old. 30.5 is their average age at forward and 30.8 is average age on defense. According to the guy on WGR, the Penguins last 49 draft picks are either not on the team or not in the NHL at all. Sabres are 25.6 at forward and 23.5 on defense for comparison

It appears every player who ends up on the line of Olofsson sees a decrease in their playing. Mitts saw that earlier this season and now JJP is experiencing that now. I get that Adams wants guys who want to be here but you also have to play well enough to deserve to be here.

For those curious, Dmitri Simashev is a 6'4" LHD playing in Russia and splitting time between the KHL and the MHL (Russian Jrs.) this season.

I'd agree with this. Greenway probably has mixed emotions leaving his team and friends behind. The Sabres system is different than Minnesota and he doesn't know the guys on his line. He feels pressure as being someone that was traded to prove himself. I'd think he needs probably 5-10 games before we really see what he could bring.

The Sabres were dominant in the 2nd period. 3rd period and 1st period were roughly even (until the last 5min of the 3rd when Buffalo was pushing).

You're right, olofsson was a factor in this game. His lazy, weak, one dimensional play allowed the opposition to score twice in his whopping 12:07 of ice time. I mean there's awful and then there's olofsson last night. My favorite play was the one where for no reason he starts to flee the zone only to have to backtrack and not pickup the goal scorer in the slot. Here it is... Bryson for a better defenseman. Olofsson for a Tuch.

We outshot them 39 to 37. It didn't transform anything, they got great goaltending tonight.

Tomorrow you gotta show up in a big way. Hopefully Samuelsson can play so Bryson can ride the bench. I'd make a call up before I'd let Olofsson back out there. We had a boatload of high danger chances.
