  1. Buffalo Sabres @BuffaloSabres ยท 2m The teams are set for today's 3v3 tournament! Who's playing, where to watch & more: https://bufsabres.co/3NEJd3w
  2. The numbers in each category are the rank not a count (idk if you knew but for anyone glancing at it) and basically because Buffalo has so many good prospects they blow past teams with only 1 or 2 great ones. Also Power, Quinn, and JJP are still being used in our rankings because they haven't hit 100 nhl games. Short version, we have a quantity of quality that the 3 behind us don't have. Also Baders model is questionable. That said Columbus and Detroit fall right in line with how I think those teams are. I think Columbus is more likely to excel past Detroit then Detroit is to get good soon unless every ufa works out. Yzerman really likes his high floor mediocre ceiling guys.
  3. Unbeknownst to most, I'm almost always at the scrimmage but sadly tomorrow is a day of days.
  4. We've got another 2 years of development before I'd ever think much about Kisakov outside Rochester. That's okay though. Not everyone is ready at 21 or 22.
  5. We aren't trading for Pesce. We signed 2 rhd already.
  6. ... what... what do we think a #4 looks like?
  7. You don't sign a ufa guy and then immediately trade them. That's just ***** management.
  8. Ik right? I feel really good about our defense as it stands.
  9. I don't think Kane is even a blip on Adams radar.
  10. I love Novikov. I think with the defensive depth in Buffalo now both Ryan and Nikita will be in Rochester for the majority or all of the year. Next year they will have chances to join the Sabres depending on what they do with Lybushkin and Erik Johnson.
  11. 2 years, whatever the 2nd round pick offer sheet compensation is
  12. What I read made it sound like it was 2, 2023 2nds
  13. Leafs had an offer for 2 second round picks for their first and turned it down to select a late 2nd round guy. My guess is that offer was Buffalo but I think there are a few other options.
  14. Nikita Novikov is the prospect I am most interested in this season. He has almost 100 KHL games under his belt, isn't 20 until July 25th and is a beast of a kid at 6'4" 195lbs already. I am curious to see if there is more offense hidden there and what he looks like in the AHL, a league that is probably a step below the KHL in skill.
  15. I think that top point is a really key point. Comparing a guy to their league peers and team peers should really give you a feel for what they could become. Also, I found my Benson comparable, Seth Jarvis. 5'10" 98pts in his draft year, plays a good 2way game, was drafted 13th overall.
  16. Oh man, I'm just envisioning a year from now with Benson on the 3rd line and Krebs as his center. Give them Kulich and they'll stir up some ***** Normally I'd agree, but most teams don't have Dahlin and Power
  17. I'll add on a bit. Kane uses stick handling to beat you and then his skating to exploit that. Benson has lesser handling but better manipulation. It's basically 6 to 1 versus half a dozens. Kane attacks you, handles, beats. Benson attacks the space near you, gets you into that space, then either handles or passes to beat. Kane had a better shot and was faster. Now others have already mentioned this but Kane didn't post a ton of defense in Jr's and that's a stark contrast to Benson. Benson is one of if not the best 2way forward in this draft class. His stick checks are borderline brilliant for timing and how he does it. Benson also cuts through the hands of forwards when he can, that disrupts the handling. Benson also is insanely smart in all zones, he works vertical and horizontal when he comes back. He understands how defense is layered and how you exploit it. Kane was a Ferrari. Benson is like a Hellcat. It Benson were 5'11" he would have gone top 8.
