  1. Great post. Sidenote, I would contest that the US was close to the losing in July of 1863. Even if the Army of the Potomac was destroyed in part at Gettysburg or there abouts, the Confederacy would still have been cut in half on July 4th with the ending of the Siege of Vicksburg and the Army of Cumberland was still driving towards Atlanta. However, since I don't want to come across as nitpicking, I want to add that I fully agree the 3 days in July were the most perilous for the US. One can easily envision a shattered Army of the Potomac limping back to Washington DC with the confederates hot on their trails.
  2. Not "triggered" in the least. I explained my point and am moving on.
  3. Id still rank Rosen a tier below Benson and Savoie. Kulich, Östlund, Rosen though is hard to judge because of Rosen's age and Östlund not playing in NA.
  4. Why shouldn't someone who is in demand, ask for their full value? Further more since you brought up Tampa. Hedman signed for about 10.5% of the cap when he did his last deal. In today's dollars that would be about 9.2million if the cap goes up to 87.5million next year. Adding 1million more to that number brings you up to 12% of the cap. Point and Kucherov make 11.4% of the current cap. Eichel makes 12% of the cap, Stone makes 11.4% of the cap. Makar currently makes 10.4% of the cap. My point is that the cap% number for Dahlin says he should get around 10-10.25 if the cap is truly going up to 87.5million. That would put his number right in along with what we see from other stars and all those teams I picked won cups recently. While the players (as far as I could tell) were signed to those deals and on the teams. 10.5 is probably a little high but anything 10.25 or less is right in line with what we should expect and keep in mind the 10.5 would only be slightly high for a year.
  5. And yet you picked a specific example outside the bounds of the current conversation. Says more about you that you see Kamala Harris as a "token" pick when Archie Lee's point is more accurate to how vps are chosen. This is like when PA tries to argue that Don Granato is not qualified to be an NHL head coach. It lacks an objective look at facts and just relies on the reality you want to believe in... so basically modern America.
  6. That's how every vp candidate has been picked for years. McCain, picked a white women Obama, white dude Trump, actual Christian Hillary, white guy They all pick a vp that represents a voting block they want to appeal too.
  7. You would need to draft Fleming. This roster has updated height and weights based on what I assume is the players physicals when they got to camp. There is a link in here for that pdf. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/news/buffalo-sabres-prospects-challenge-roster-zach-benson-jiri-kulich-matt-savoie-isak-rosen
  8. Novikov is gonna be lots of fun in Rochester. He's a sleeping giant.
  9. Not that I know of but here are your goal scorers 2 goals for Matt Savoie. 1 each for Rosén, Kulich, Kozak and Lindgren.
  10. 3 stars for me: 1) Savoie, he was flying and he had some great shifts out there. 2) Novikov, he looks like someone who played in a very good men's league for the last 2 years. His offensive side is brutally underrated. 3) Isak Rosen, he just seemed to be around the puck a lot tonight and you could see the playmaking especially. Shots were 28/21 Buffalo Other thoughts... where the hell was David Reinbacher for Montreal? He started out noticeable and then vanished halfway through the first. Owen Beck was noticeable a few times throughout but nothing popped. They just really lack that high end offensive pipeline. Sure they had some big guys and you could see some of that physicality but as Duffer and Baker noted, Buffalo never backed down from that and actually seemed to engage with it more and more. Benson had moments and was visible but I think he looked slower as the game wore on. Still gave his all every shift. Ryan Johnson was as good as Novikov in a lot of ways but he has a bit less flash. Johnson is really that solid 5/6 who can play up because he is never going to do anything dumb. I wanted more from Kulich, when the puck wasn't being slipped to him by Rosen, he was I guess around but idk I just wanted more. Kisakov flashed that skill but I think he is another couple years of hard work away. Finally Panocha looked fairly good and I am very intrigued by him. I wish Strbak was here but that's okay. Good win. Personally I think the Sabres talent level in the prospect area is superior to Montreal so I would expect such a thing. In these short tournaments though you never know and I think Buffalo got better as the game progressed while Montreal just got more and more frustrated.
  11. oh my, Matt Savoie. I will find that and post it even though X is trash and doesn't embed. Thanks ELON, you turd. https://x.com/SabresPlays/status/1702846511778762963?s=20
  12. Looked better as the period went on. I think Buffalo has more talent but they gotta obviously put it all together. Rosen has been a good one today and you can tell that Savoie and Benson play together.
  13. If you care to watch Ottawa v New Jersey https://www.nhl.com/senators/video/ottawa-senators-live-stream-6336964896112
  14. He's got an excellent shot but really needs to improve his handling and his decision making to truly be a strong driver of offense at the NHL level. He really needs another AHL year to work on all of this. I think the organization would promote Rosen to the Sabres before Kulich but that is just my opinion.
  15. I doubt SJS would trade Musty so recently after drafting him and they are rebuilding so idk what we would trade for him if he were available. Musty, for those who don't have it in front of them, was drafted 26th overall this past year. No reason to trade for Luke Tuch at all. He is going into his 4th year in college meaning he will be a UFA in August if Montreal doesn't sign him. I would just wait and Buffalo is also swamped with forward prospects so I am not sure Buffalo is actually a good landing spot for his career. To be truthful, Tuch's numbers in college project him out to maybe a middle 6 AHL type of guy. There just isn't any reason to trade assets for that.
