  1. The closest thing we have to this is Jarmo Kekรคlรคinen
  2. Terry Pegula's problem is the same problem an entire host of people have. The Dunning-Kruger effect. Terry doesn't understand as much about hockey as he thinks but since his understanding is so limited/bad he overestimates his abilities OVER AND OVER. This is compounded by the fact he is a billionaire and when you are that wealthy, you have a very important super power. If you don't like what someone tells you, you just fire them and get someone to confirm the reality you want to live in. It is why the super rich are so out of touch when it comes to just about everything. When they hear things they don't like, they change them or insulate themselves so they don't have to hear it anymore. Bill Gates (I think it is him) grew a giant hedge around his property in LA which is against the zoning or HOA whatever and guess what, he doesn't care because the 10k fine a month is nothing. He has so much money that he just forces reality to his will. Terry is the same, it is why he has vanished from the public side of the Sabres. It went down hill, he didn't like the scrutiny, so now he shows up during important times, gets to play owner and make decisions, then flies on back to Florida where he basks in the success of the money printing NFL team he owns and the soon to open fancy new stadium. He built a hedge around his Sabres ownership so he doesn't have to see or hear the "WTF!" that is coming from the fanbase.
  3. Byram, I would look to Vancouver. I would try to get Chytil (yea I know he has a bad concussion history) and a 2nd round pick. I don't think you can get a ton more for Byram. If not Vancouver, than LA Kings would be an option. I would love to pry Liam Greentree from their cold dead hands (metaphorically) but I doubt Byram gets that done. Maybe Byram and one of the 400 RHD prospects (not Mrtka) can get you that. Outside of that, maybe they would part with Danault. Note that Danault has a modified NMC but that would be a player with TONS of experience that could help the team. Power for Carbonneau, Broberg, and a 3rd Byram, 3rd, and Kleber for Danault and Greentree (I am probably a bit light here for Buffalo)
  4. Terry hires ppl that are like him. It's psychology.
  5. If you move on from both, Mrtka probably ends up in Buffalo next season which I don't love. If possible, I'd like to see him go to Rochester for a year. I think you can replace Byram with Novikov on the 3rd pair. Ik there's skating concerns but Novikov is positional and tough. There's also ufa and lower end guys you could trade picks or prospects for. In the Power trade, I'd probably look for a team with good prospects, a decent nhl veteran lhd, and then build the trade around that. So maybe St. Louis and ask for Carbonneau, Broberg, and a 3rd or something.
  6. They should move on from Byram because he's mediocre. They should move on from Power because he's passive. They should move on from both.
  7. ... I'm not used to getting proven right so quickly, so thxs I guess.
  8. Benson and Norris rotated in during drills.
  9. How come every time you respond to just about everyone, it's a condescending re-write of something the op didn't even say? This team loses because it has bad coaches, not enough talent, and a weak core of on ice leaders. The Sabres are bottom feeders.
  10. Tuch can sign 8yrs with the team he's on b4 July 1. He can sign 6yrs on or after July 1.
  11. I have said it a bunch but I'll add it here. I believe Terry is worried about stadium costs and that's his sole focus. He saw that he had a bunch of front office guys with 1yr deals, so decided to punt on the season. He brought in Kekalainen to audition for gm and knows Ruff will retire at years end. It's a winning formula is Terry's mind where he doesn't have to pay 2 staffs, gets to see if he likes the new gm, and allows Adams to move up into whatever role Terry plans while the stadium overruns get paid off. Bottom line is Terry doesn't care about this year because the stadium and Bills are more important. On top of all that, he's working to get public funding for a arena overhaul. The product on the ice is irrelevant.
  12. I don't follow the nfl draft much, but I do have a friend who's big into it. He says this is a decent wr draft with some talent that would be available in the 1st. He likes Chris Bell.
  13. Zach Benson is the pick that convinced me elite prospects do a better job at scouting than most nhl teams. The ability to win battles, manipulate defenders, and put pucks into HD areas all while being excellent defensively is apparently hard to see for most teams. It's why this draft season I wonder about Stenberg and Belchetz being more effective at the nhl than McKenna.
  14. I don't think Ladd McConkey is playing tonight
  15. I think that's just absurd. Tuch is a veteran. Tage is a veteran. They did nothing all game and Lyon wasn't changing that. Fire Adams.
  16. Sabres need to fire Wilford now, and evaluate the D before the deadline.
  17. Why are you trading for defense prospects? You know how many defense prospects we have? I can't imagine a worse scenario than taking a top 6 forward and trading him for ANOTHER defense prospect. No.
  18. If you draft Verhoeff, Owen Power is immediately replaceable.
  19. Owner already fired ppl from the broadcast because it wasn't positive enough. Terry is a ***** owner and I firmly believe if the Bills didn't have Allen, things would be ***** there too. Kevyn Adams should be gone but Terry is cash poor and needs money for his stadium over runs.
  20. How Marty Wilford still has a job is beyond me. Good.
  21. This team is as broken as we thought this summer.
  22. I wouldn't let Adams sell hotdogs let alone make any more moves.
