  1. One of my big problems with Pronman is he talks about skating like a novice. If you're fast, you're a good skater. If you're slow you're a bad skater. That's just not accurate and doesn't reflect how the game is played.
  2. Really quick. The Draft Pros videos are short and fine but the Elite Prospects videos give far better analysis. I think shooting is the most obvious one for that, DP just says they shoot hard or fast but EP talks about changing release points, shot types, wrist and stick flex. Skating is another good example where DP is basically fast v slow although they do mention explosive skating. EP will talk about ankle flexion, crossovers, edges. I'm just mentioning it because I think you can learn more from EP and their videos are really great to not only learn about a specific player but also learn about things to look for as a whole.
  3. Martone: unlikely to be available at 9
  4. Parity in the NHL is a myth. There's virtually no player movement among the upper echelon of players. Yes to the incoming post about guys being traded every year who are good (rantaanen) but I mean overall most teams don't get to add that level of player. Most of the movement is shuffling role players.
  5. If you sign Marner, it opens up all types of possibilities with your defense because you can then move forwards in trades.
  6. Lack I said, "conditioning" was this years scapegoat for Adams incompetence.
  7. Carter Bear is progressing quick enough he may participate in the July World Jr summer showcase. He's already back skating.
  8. Adams is such a sad sack. Can't even fire ppl cuz they're all his buddies, pals, chums.
  9. Imo, Zach Benson got drafted because the underlying analytics were absurd.
  10. If this is true... the Sabres scouting department is incompetent.
  11. You don't think Zach Benson is tough?
  12. Since someone asked about Knies
  13. I'd sign Marner if possible. I don't think we'll be able to sadly.
  14. I do. It's not 2006 anymore. The league had new rules and Buffalo was able to exploit them. It's 20yrs later under the cap system, everyone adjusted. This one thing worked this one time, so 20yrs later we should do it again. If it was going to work it would have last year. The leagues changed, development has changed. We gotta let 2005 go.
  15. Here we go... Wonder if Florida will have the legs to deal with Carolina tonight.
  16. Too much youth imo. I'd want at least Zucker of Tuch taking a wing spot. Kulich is basically a sophomore next year.
  17. I think Peterka has more to give. I felt his defensive game has improved and I felt we saw better decisions from him. He also played a lot with Tage and idk how many of those assists are 2nd ones.
  18. I'll say this, Peterka is a hell of a value for a 2nd round player. 27g, 41a and it's his 2nd season at 27g (had 28 last year). Also his sh% isn't stupid impossible so he's likely to maintain that. Personally, I'd like to keep Peterka because the best from him is yet to come and we're about to enter his prime years. Unless someone is offering a massive overpay, I'd keep him around.
  19. Would be an interesting add.
  20. That's because our scoring was down. If we scored the same and UPL wasn't a bottom tier goalie this season, we're where Montreal and Ottawa ended up.
  21. So Buffalo sent 1 guy down basically. Idk how that supports your og point which others upthread have also disputed.
  22. Fixing gt alone would have put us in the playoffs last year. UPL was a sieve.
