  1. Everyone expected that. NIce contract considering how his season ended. Warrior who will be missed. Always enjoyed Jake. Can I at least keep Linus? Please?
  2. Best case scenario is that a bidding war has finally broken out and all the cards are on the table: Vegas is dangling Krebs AND Tuch The Wild are saying we can have Boldy AND Rossi Anaheim has finally moved Zegras on to the table and Comtois is staying there as well Drury has upped the 4th to a 3rd and is grudgingly throwing in Keith Kincaid.
  3. Sorry, I took an hour off. I don't see a single real move that indicates any of the main suitors are out. And just the normal space-fillers from the insiders.
  4. Here are three things to consider with the current "tank": The management may have stripped top-end talent for futures, but unlike 13/15, the team will still be trying to win on the ice Unlike 13/15, this team will have a smattering of players — Dahlin, Cozens, maybe Mitts and the key Eichel return — worth watching Generally speaking, this team won't be any worse than what we've watched the past 4 years and could easily be better than last year
  5. So if you are correct, the Seravelli Tweet is the result of the agent feeding him that tidbit in the hope it might spark that last-minute overture. Which is a great illustration of how much of this stuff that we read and hear gets out.
  6. Lundqvist, statistically, is far more than Ryan Johnson. He had 63 points in 97 games in the SHL as a 19 and 20-year-old defenceman. 8 points in 7 games in his last world juniors. 5 points in 3 games at this year's Men's world championship. Last year he scored the most goals by a U21 defenceman in SHL history and won their version of the Norris.
  7. I understand all that and also have been focused on getting a potential 1C as a “must-have” Set it aside for a moment. How good are Chytil and Lundqvist and how good can they be?
  8. Isn’t a two projected top 4 RHDs with complementary talents and a projected 2C a better return than a projected 1B C and a projected 4/5 (Krebs and Hague?)
  9. Bad news because we lost a partner with some attractive assets? Good news because it means somebody else has finally got a good offer on the table? Completely meaningless? Its going to be a stressful day.
  10. What is your opinion on the 3?
  11. So how good are Lundqvist and Chytil? The fans talk about them like they are on par with Drysdale and Turcotte. I’ve been tuning them out because Ranger fans are *****, but maybe I’ve been underestimating them. Lundqvist, Chytil, Schneider and a 1st meets Adams ask and Brooks makes it sound like Schneider is a sticking point. I know and like Schneider -he’s a big, tough and talented RHD who fills a big need and I’m comfortable projecting into the top 4. Lundqvist’s numbers are sick. Can he be a top 3 D? Chytil is big and fast and a C. He paced for 40 points this year at age 21. Can he be a 2C? Have I been underestimating these guys?
  12. The pressure this morning is on any GMs who have mentally committed to Eichel as Plan A. Because Plan B, C and D will disappear soon. It’s also possibly a 25-percent chance and possibly at 13-percent chance and possibly an 8-percent…. Safe use of weasel words for $400, Alex.
  13. Rasmus leaves the Sabres 6th all-time in points by a defenceman with 245 and 9th in games played with 542.
  14. Max Afinogenov hands with Vaclav Varada’s face and attitude. Oh, yes that’s one serious Poltapov Cocktail. Cannot wait.
  15. Hmm… Standing firm on that 2nd round pick plus our 11th-best prospect isn’t cutting it Chris. Do you think we should throw in Kevin Rooney?
  16. Other than injuries, I don’t understand why some fans don’t. Again: with Linus in net over the past two years the Sabres - the god-awful, no-talent, Krueger-coached Sabres - won at a 90-point pace. Also, he is the best shootout goalie in the NHL.
  17. Gotta believe they have to have one of them on the table already, no?
  18. Sorry guys, he’s 33 and couldn’t score with McDavid and Draisaitl or Gaudreau. He’s not changing that with Caggiula and Bjork.
  19. I remember feeling like that around this time when ROR was being auctioned off. In reality what was happening was Botterill was desperately trying to cobble together a deal out of the ashes of offers he had previously turned down.
  20. Jones and Holtby are ***** awful. Irredeemably so. Andersen has something left IMO, but he’s no Linus.
  21. Krebs can certainly have a Peca-type ceiling. And Hague’s upside can be McKee.
  22. I can see it being a Sabres leak. It gives other parties back door insight into how they might present a counter-offer to bridge the gap without the Sabres actually weakening their bargaining position by presenting it themselves. Guerin can say “I can pay that: Rossi Addison Rask and a 1st” Or Blake: Turcotte Faber Kempe and a first. Then Adams counters with “change Faber to Bjornfot and we’ve got a deal” or some such.
  23. I’ll echo the above: if that’s the ask, the Knights would be foolish not to take it. Smells more like the offer. And my god, does it resemble the Peca, Wilson and a 1st return for Mogilny. Hope it works out that well. Looks a lot like what I’ve been increasingly expecting. Disappointing for sure, but at least it would fill my minimum return of one blue-chipper.
  24. Vegas and Minny have created space and Montreal had it created for them. LA and Calgary have kept their powder dry. Anaheim could still do it, but have spent their key piece and seem a long shot now. Rangers have squandered a chip with Buch and some space with Goodrow. They still could, but they have never really seemed serious. Am I missing anyone?
