4-0 final. UPL full value for the shutout. He's been very solid the past 3 games.
-
Fitzgerald from the point off a forecheck from the 4th line. 4-0
-
Counting tonight, Samuelsson now has 5 points in a little less than 5 games. +4, 12 shots on goal, physically dominant, calm and composed. He's ready.
-
Quinn and Peterka each 1/1/2 right now. Krebs has 1 assist. Really like how Krebs and Quinn are regularly killing penalties as a unit in addition to being on the 1st PP.
-
Weird. Looks like it's Quinn's goal. Apparently Krebs didn't connect as he tried to sweep in the rebound and it was actually a Monster that knocked it in.
-
Krebs sets up Quinn for a glorious chance then pots the rebound himself. 3-0 Amerks. EDIT: Sorry, Peterka with the set-up. Points for all three there.
-
Girgs, Reinhart and Asplund are wingers, Cozens TBD. Grigorenko and Hurley are busts. We developed Eichel and Mittelstadt as NHL centres, assuming the recent Mitts sticks.
-
Girgensons, Grigorenko, Reinhart, Eichel, Mittelstadt and Cozens — that's 6 1st round centres in 8 years. Also took Asplund and Conor Hurley in the 2nd in that stretch. Our issue isn't drafting centres, it's developing them into NHL centres.
-
Krebs ain't got the finish of his linemates. At least the 3rd time I've seen him set up in slot for a golden opportunity and he's failed to bury it. He gets to the right spots and Quinn's done a good job finding him. And goal! Mersch on the doorstep. Exactly
-
Macinnis with the decision in the 1st bout of the night. Didn't know he had that in him. He, Jankowski and Murray bring a notable size to the Amerks we don't have on the Sabres.
-
Krebs springs Peterka on a rush and he buries it.
-
Reports of Mattias Samuelsson's slow feet have been greatly exaggerated. At this level at least, he gets around just fine, and reads the play well enough that he's rarely chasing.
-
This is pretty much what I want, though — 3rd-line minutes for the prospects, pushing the better JAGs to the 4th line where they belong and the lesser JAGs to the press box. And remember, we haven't seen Jokiharju or Mittelstadt and lately VO.
-
I don’t. I want them in the NHL when they are better than guys like that. They are exactly the right measuring stick. Not exactly disagreeing, but Peterka has work to do defensively; he’s behind the JAGs in that area. They apparently play Donnie’s system, with more focus on development than winning now and I’m OK with that.

Samuelsson is on the roster next year, no if’s,ands, or buts. The only way Power isnt is if he goes back to college. Don’t see that happening. The forwards are more intriguing. Based on expected development curves, Krebs should arrive this year and the other 2 next year. On ice, all three look close to me. But that is a lot of rookies for one team. may not be room for them all. Mind you, it worked well for the ‘86 Canadiens.

What we’ve learned from the Jack Eichel conclusion

Hadn’t seen this before, but a quote from an NHL GM in here that he wanted in on Eichel but his medical team said NFW. https://www.espn.com/nhl/insider/story/_/id/32550032/nhl-trade-grades-golden-knights-trade-jack-eichel-send-peyton-krebs-alex-tuch-picks-sabres Supports your position. -
I expected the speed and the forecheck and ability to skate with and shoot the puck. I did not expect him to find other players as well as he does. The kid uses his linemates and knows how to make plays.

GDT: Oilers vs Sabres Nov. 12, 2021, 7pm, ESPN+ only, WGR

As someone prone to bouts of Skinner-bashing, I though he was fantastic last night. -
If anyone’s paying attention, the season is only 13 games old and we’ve already fallen 11 points behind the Coyotes in the Fight for Wright.Glad that’s out of the way. The Coyotes have been outscored to 57 to 22. That tank driver ain’t messing around.
-
Peterka and Jankowski were the best forwards tonight. The Krebs Quinn combo wasn’t as good as the previous games, although Quinn’s goal was amazing.

Donnie Granato seeing opportunities where we see fears. Well done, coach. Happy you’re in charge. Bryson is extraordinarily tough to beat on the rush, his feet are so good. Give me anybody other than this American network folly of milking a predetermined narrative regardless of the story unfolding in the game. Or that the Oilers were tired? Or that Nugent-Hopkins hasn’t scored yet? Yes, he’s for real. This is a narrative worth repeating. The six minors to kill will do that. Dahlin was quietly excellent defending tonight. Pysyk seems a good match. We continue to work hard. Tokarski especially. Collectively, the best game of the year for the JAGs. -
Updated Sabres Prospect Pool 2021 and beyond

18 points in 12 GP is sick for a centre, let alone a defenceman. Be excited Sabres fans. -
What we’ve learned from the Jack Eichel conclusion
dudacek replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Lebrun reported that three teams remained in on Eichel at the end. That’s not the same as reporting only three teams were willing to risk ADR. He also talked to 9 unnamed NHL execs for their take on the deal. Not one mentioned Vegas taking an unreasonable risk on the surgery. I don’t think your first point has been substantiated. I considered expanding the “control of your own body” knowing I’d get that response. This is hardly as black-and-white as your statement suggests. You are asking Eichel to make an either/or choice between his health and his livelihood when an option clearly exists that asks neither. There are situations where making such a difficult demand is morally justified. I don’t believe the difference in risk to the Pegulas between ADR and fusion, based on one group of expert opinions versus another, constitutes such a situation.
