It's crazy this kid doesn't get more hype. 34-2-1 with a .941 save percentage and a 1.47 GAA in his last junior season 6-1-0 with a .964 save percentage and a 0.75 GAA in the world juniors 16-7-1 with a .948 save percentage and a 1.55 GAA in his 1st college season 20 shutouts in his last 68 games. Numbers aren't everything and it is often easy to look past them, especially with goalies. But look at those numbers. At three different levels. Nobody does that. At any level

I think this is as close as we’re going to get to you taking the L on this one. 😁

Cozens vs Zegras. Did we draft the right guy?
dudacek replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Did we know that Dylan, at 20, is the 9th-highest-scoring U22 player in the NHL right now, 3rd in goals? Did we know that Rasmus Dahlin is the 5th-highest, with numbers - goals, assists, plus-minus - that are very similar to Zegras despite the fact he is a defenceman? It’s so easy to forget how young these guys are and who their peers are. Isn’t it weird that the internet is talking about how Zegras is just scratching the surface and Dahlin is disappointing? Dahlin is 11 months older than Zegras, playing a tougher position. -
Funny thing is, Granato said this almost verbatim. Cant remember the context. Might have been Mitts, but I think it was Quinn.

Cozens vs Zegras. Did we draft the right guy?

Every time I start to worry about Cozens turning pucks over, or skating into checks, he has a game like that one, or a period like the second versus the Avs last night. He plays a power/speed game against men in a boys body. He is 20 years old. Ryan Kesler is a guy I like to compare Cozens to. He didn’t put up the type of numbers Cozens is putting up right now until he was 23. Remember how much better Eichel and Reinhart were at 23 than 20? When Dylan’s strength and experience match his skill and his motor he is going to be so good. -
I've thought Casey looked to be labouring since his most recent return. Mostly took that as being out-of-shape. Now I'm wondering if he's been rushed back.

Ray saying the didn’t have the legs they had last night seems like BS to me. Last night was easy. Tonight was not. They played their ***** off. -

Helluva period by the good guys. Skating hard and playing fearless. Deserved a better fate. -

Going from Arizona to Colorado is a real bucket of cold water for anyone feeling a little comfortable from yesterday. -
Always thought this was a myth. Krieder 29, Panarin 30, Zibanejad 28, Strome 28, Goodrow 28, Trouba 27 — that's 6 of their 7 leading scorers. They have a nice group of youngsters too, but the Rangers best window is now.

It's going to be his coming out party.

Portillo might be older, but he hasn’t had a ton. has played 57 junior and 35 college games in the past 4 seasons, including just 4 playoff games. This year is basically the 1st time he’s been a #1. Levi’s games played arent much different, but he’s adding an Olympic Games to a resume that includes top goalie performances in the WJC, World Junior A challenge and the Quebec AAAA finals. He’s got a bit more of a track record. Biron also said Levi is expected to turn pro. As far as flight risks, both players are exclusive Buffalo property until Aug.15, 2024.

There’s going to be a transition. A handful of free agents will be dumped. We will get a look at next year as Mule and Krebs and Mittelstadt and Tuch continue to establish themselves. Power and Quinn will join, we might get a look at Levi and Johnson as well. If Craig Anderson can’t stay healthy the results will be more of the same. If he can, they will have a better record than the 1st half. Guys like @PASabreFan will roll their eyes and call it meaningless. Guys like me will call it signs that the kids are developing. But the big news will be the Pegulas selling a stake in the franchise, which, coupled with the finish of the kids and a big draft, will see people start to drift back into the building. The Eichel situation was the bottom and it’s still low tide. But it’s on the way back in.

From what we’ve seen in a 1/2 season, a combo of Anderson and UPL would have been fine. Which is what I think Adams was expecting to run with this year. The issue was less his judgement of their ability and more his judgement of their availability.

Cozens vs Zegras. Did we draft the right guy?
dudacek replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Weird thing is, I’m pretty sure the Sabres went in to that draft targeting Zegras with Caufield high on their list if Zegras was snatched earlier. Cozens was a guy who they thought was gone in the top 5 and him being there caught them by surprise. -

Cozens went 7th, Zegras 9th. Hughes is breaking out and probably still goes 1st right now a redraft. Zegras probably 3rd after Seider (who went 6th)? Kakko, Cozens , Byram and Dach are probably the next 4 and are probably on a tier. Turcotte and Broberg look like the questionable picks. Lots of time for this group to reset. -
Pretty sure suspensions apply equally to NHL and AHL games, so he will not be available there until his NHL suspension concludes. I suspect the waiver is nothing more than making space for Ticker and Andy.
