I agree, but we must combine this with a serious program to reinvest in WV, TX, AK, OK, etc. These states are completely if we stop burning 100-million-year-old dead plant matter. People in those states will literally lose everything. What if we just make the market reflect the true cost of atmospheric carbon emission? I just can't support a market that artificially deflates the cost of economic activity by obfuscating the damage caused.
-
How will you know when the science is settled?
-
The economic headwinds provided by any significant carbon emission reduction platform are real. Entire cities in this country are dependent on the extraction and consequent burning of coal and oil. There is no way to implement real climate action without adversely affecting the families that depend on these actions for their livelihood.

When considering conflicting science from the 70s and now, take into consideration that the space science era (critical for the study of the earth as a whole) only really began in 1960 with the launch of TIROS 1.

I'm NOT OK with the side deals negotiating for organ transfer (the Lamborghini quip was a terrible, terrible joke). I don't like the method, I'd like to see a federal clearinghouse for these transactions to provide for a clear and open transfer of the tissue and organs that could potential save lives in the future. I'd also like an informed consent document, signed by the woman undergoing the procedure, to be a key part of the clearing of the transaction.
-
Yes, organs and tissues both. The group creating the videos was posing as a research institution. Planned Parenthood's books are open record, and audited annually by KPMG.
-
The only institutions that PP transfers fetal tissue to are research institutions. The practice is currently legal (although any financial transfer must be to cover cost only, no profit is allowed) and banning the research would end the practice.

Yuri is happening here, and it is beautiful. -
Would you support an end to Fetal Tissue Research, and if so, why not just support legislation banning the practice? Why throw the baby out with the bath water?
-
I disagree with most major non-research military spending, but it works like economic stimulus, so I find it useful when demand for durable manufactured goods is depressed.

In the beginning was Zemgus, and Zemgus was with God, and Zemgus was God. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (also, swap out Datsyuk for Kesler in the first choice so I can vote.)

How has EJ's decision making been in coverage (speed to decision and correctness of decision)? That, IMO, is the most important thing.

Nice work Jays, keep bringing the division lead closer and closer. Fear the Bird.

I think the owner is just literally relaying his own personal observations. But without any details from other sources, the News makes that the center of the story. We only have pieces of the story. That makes it uncomfortable for our human brains that like to assess and categorize things immediately because the instinct helps protect us from mountain lions and bears.
-
I will second this, please tell us that you have both of these things.
-
I think you'd like it.

I think of it more as a star shape.... ... or a pentagram....

Sir, you don't have to do anything. I'm making you aware of the affects the discussion is having. You are choosing to dismiss me. I get it. You should also look into the rarity of false sexual assault accusations. I think the information will affect your position, but I think that if the sources are brought to you by me, they will be discounted, and reasonably so. (the bolded section is an hilarious juxtaposition)

nFreeman, I am asking you to stop saying things that are hurting people. I'm asking you to consider the possibility that you, like me, were raised in a society with some real under currents of misogyny and sexism. I'm asking you to consider the possibility that you, like me, absorb some of those less lovely parts of our society and they have affected your default thought patterns. I'm asking you to listen to the people you know, like Josie, when they tell you that the default to disbelief that victims of sexual assault experience is real and it is painful. These are the things I am asking you when I am asking you to stop. I am expressing a sincere desire that the discussion change course out of respect for this victim, and all victims of sexual assault and the pile-on pain that our reactions can cause. Obviously, I have no authority to actually silence people. You, on the other hand, do have that authority. So, if you wish, this can be my last post on the subject.

You can get a fm transmitter for about $30. Might be worth it.

Wait! Is IKnowPhysics actually a red-headed lab rat from PA?

 Then I will contend that the creation of capital at the expense of demand is a terrible mistake.
