  1. ugh. looks like it's time for more coffee. Thanks for the clarification, Eleven.
  2. Is there anything more apocalyptic looking than a good tire fire?
  3. This reference is not sparking anything in my brain.
  4. I'll watch NBC for 3 reasons: 3) I don't have cable 2) I can indirectly support Notre Dame Football 1) I have a huge man-crush on Brian Williams
  5. Obama gains 1% Romney loses 1% to pull into a tie in the Rasmussen tracking poll, which was the last significant current tracking poll (gallup has suspended polling due to the storm) to have the governor in the lead. Tuesday night is going to be a blast. Watching the TV News people try not to screw up reporting a close election is always entertaining. Way more suspense than 08, especially since there is a legit swing state in the mountain time zone that could decide the election.
  6. see my previous link.
  7. Agreed, where do they publish that number? also: http://money.cnn.com/2012/11/01/news/economy/wages-jobs/index.html?hpt=hp_t3 (And I was just trying to be funny copying your wording)
  8. Final jobless report not good for Romney. 171,000 new jobs in October.
  9. I'm looking really good on this one. Latest poll has Donnelly up by 11 in the race. Says republican Pollster Christine Matthews who co-directed the poll, "It's all over but the crying."
  10. Dude. You can make this argument without coming unglued. The "what the hell are you talking about?" comment was rude and condescending, imo, but you've come unhinged. If you think the president is in the middle of a conspiracy to cover up the deaths of four Americans, including an ambassador, make the case. No need to take the profanity filter for a test drive.
  11. I completely agree with this sentiment. I still don't buy the cover-up narrative being driven by some media outlets, but this was a massive failure by whomever is in charge of state department facility security.
  12. If their are any first responders still working on rescue efforts, this is a terrible decision by Bloomberg.
  13. I think you're focusing on one line that was reported. Watch the comments in the linked video. He goes into almost every specific you asked for above. http://video.foxnews.com/v/1937269915001/obama-gov-christie-comment-on-hurricane-sandy/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+foxnews%2Fvideo+(Internal+-+Video+-+Latest)
  14. I get all this, I still wonder what you want him to say when he is inevitably asked, "What message would you send to the people in NJ devastated by this storm?" Your original complaint was that he said "We will rebuild stronger", my question isn't so much what you want him to do now, or yesterday, or tomorrow, but how you would have him answer that question.
  15. If I'm in charge of a response to a disaster, I want to see the devastation. The press is going to ask him to say something, what do you want him to say?
  16. What do you want to hear. "Wow, probably shouldn't have built all those houses so close to that big angry ocean. You're pretty much ###### for life now, it's gonna be bad forever. See you later!"
  17. you never ever ever underpay underage Dominican hookers. It's the first rule of creep club.
  18. I was referring to PHD's claim that Al Gore was the only candidate to lose his home state. Which was not true, I was trying to figure out what he was getting at.
  19. I think the interesting trivia is that James K Polk is the only candidate to lose his birth state and his resident state and go on to win the election. It's interesting because he was also the first true Dark Horse candidate.
  20. Al Smith Failed to carry NY in 1928 also, is there some kind of qualification to that piece of trivia that we're missing? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_major-party_United_States_presidential_candidates_who_lost_their_home_state
  21. I don't think this is true. Dewey failed to carry NY in 1944 for instance. Stevenson failed to carry Illinois in 1952 and 1956.
  22. I'm ready to make my prediction*: The president will be reelected with 281 or 290 electoral votes, Colorado will be too close to call on election night, but it will be irrelevant. National popular vote will be 49%-48% in favor of Governor Romney (this will be driven by high anti-Obama turnout in the already red states combined with softer pro-Obama turnout in the blue states, particularly the storm battered Northeast.) Democrats will maintain 53 seats in the Senate with Joe Donnelly pulling the upset in Indiana. Democrats will pick up 3-5 seats in the House, and the GOP will maintain it's significant advantage. *this prediction is based on some polling information, and a boatload of "gut instinct", also note: I'm not particularly good at these predictions.
  23. I have highlight replays of all of his Tours. I keep re-watching the videos, and he keeps winning. I don't see anything that's changed. Actually, I'm a huge cycling fan. I introduced my son to the Tour in 2010, and on the very first day he fell in love with Cadel Evans, even while I was rooting for Lance and Radioshack. Cadel was probably the first clean rider to win the Tour in decades. I'd like to see all endurance sports go to Biometric Baseline testing like swimming has. It's the only way to beat the cheaters. Don't look for the dope, just make sure their system is running in the normal range.
  24. The man running for president was never the governor of Massachusetts. That was a completely different Mitt Romney.
