  1. They'll probably have them, but I'd take one just in case, especially if you want them to sign your jersey.
  2. They'll definitely sign stuff. The whole road crew concept is to give a big thank you to Sabres outside of the Buffalo area. It should be definitely be autograph friendly. Hell, when I went the Pegula's didn't even own the team yet. I imagine if they changed anything it would be to make the experience even better for everyone. You'll have a blast. Get a picture putting up your dukes with Rob Ray or something. He wasn't at the one I attended, I would've loved to meet him. He may be a big dumb lug who gets way too much grief on these boards, but he's our big dumb lug, dammit.
  3. I think it depends on the venue. When I went it was held at this restaurant a few miles from the Canes arena called Buffalo Brothers pizza. There were probably 200 or so people there but it was many years and countless beers ago so my memory may be a little fuzzy. We showed up early and ordered a pizza we paid for but they also set up a buffet that was included with the price of admission. Probably an hour or so into the official start time was when there was a chance to line up and get pictures or autographs with the VIPs but the place will be filled with Sabres fans so there's always friendlies to converse with. They also played the Top Shelf dvd of RJ on a loop on all the tvs in the restaurant when I went and I hadn't see it before that so watching that kept me entertained as well.
  4. Have fun. I went to one of those in Raleigh some years back. It was fun and I got to meet Rick Jeanneret, Lindy Ruff, Harry Neale, and Kevin Sylvester. Rick was knocking beers back left and right
  5. Sounds like a hipster haven, which you'd expect from the microbrew crowd. The fancy beer drinking types will try to lie and say hipsters drink PBR or whatever, but we all know hipsters gravitate towards the hand crafted microbrew nonsense that is sourced locally with organic ingredients and whatever other buzzwords you can throw in to make it more wholesome and/or fancy.
  6. Good call, Russ.
  7. My guess is never unfortunately. It's a damn shame too. The stuff going on in Washington would make for some interesting debate. I'd love to see how the right wingers would tap dance on their principles to defend the actions of the President and his team/party.
  8. I think I can help. 1) Develop a drinking problem 2) Beat your wife and kids 3) Dare her to call the cops 4) Tell the cops to piss off 5) Come on here the Thursday after this all happens and complain about police brutality Welcome to the thread.
  9. Just remember in 20 years after global warming really takes hold you'll be able to enjoy winters in the 50's while it will be triple digits in the winter where he's at. Until Florida get buried under the rising oceans of course.
  10. Yeah, I had Center Ice for years and I always hated the OLN/Versus/NBCSports games. Being in NC I have no choice but to watch the Carolina feed whenever we play the Hurricanes too. I believe if you pay for the extra sports pack with Directv though you can get the full pre and post game shows you just have to switch back and forth from the Center Ice channels (770's and 780's). I want to say they play in full on the MSG channels (channel 635 or so).
  11. I think what happened was they (BC/BS) decided not to pay for some of the treatment. So the bills were a combined mix of bills from the insurance company, from the hospital themselves, as well as bills from the private ambulance companies. They ambulanced her to our local hospital and then again from Onslow Memorial (our local hospital) to Chapel Hill (about 2 hours away) and she spent a week or two over there. They ended up doing a xenograph (pig skin graft instead of taking skin from her thigh or elsewhere on her body) and BC/BS decided they weren't going to pay it. It's a mess but to hell with the lot of them. It can all go into collections and if she needs a loan in the near future I can always get one and just have her pay it. Either way, we're not going to be the ones to get hosed because we ain't paying it. They can pound sand or eat a bag of ###### before I let her pay them a red cent. Blue Cross and Chapel Hill can fight it out amongst themselves to see who takes the losses/write offs.
  12. Yeah it's an extra messed up system thanks in part to the profit motive. She couldn't afford to pay 20 grand when she only make 35 or 36 grand a year. There's really no incentive to pay part of it either because the bills are broken up and it will still put a dozen accounts into collections so why pay any of it?
  13. It's great until the Sabres end up playing the Kings or Ducks or whomever on the West Coast and we have a bunch of road games that start at 10:30 pm that don't end until 1 in the morning. Road games for them involve them listening to it on the radio while stuck in after work traffic and getting home in time to only be able to watch the 3rd period/OT. It's bad for tv ratings and everything knows money is more important than anything else.
  14. Just don't pay the doctor. It'll stay on your credit for 7 or so years when they send it to collections but that's better than tanking all of your savings. My girlfriend had a grease fire in our kitchen last summer and got a bad burn on her hand and lesser burns on her arm and foot. Despite having insurance she still got billed for tens of thousands of dollars for deductibles, copays, and stuff her insurance wouldn't cover. She was going through the bills and had planned on starting with the smaller ones (a bill for $63, another one for $114, etc.) and paying them off before trying to negotiate on the others. I told her to add them all up and at last count it was over 20 grand and I convinced her there was no point in paying any of it. It still hasn't hit her credit report yet and she just got a loan for a new van last fall so at least if/when her score does tank she won't need a loan anytime soon.
  15. I hate that the game is on NBC Sports. Directv has a free preview of Center Ice this week so instead of getting the home feed it will be blacked out in favor of the NBC jackoffs.
  16. But we also lose Kane. The market for defensemen is too steep after the whole Hall for Larsson deal. Last offseason we were discussing Fowler for the #8 pick and that seemed steep but at least Fowler was proven. I'd rather not give up Kane and a likely top 10 pick for a guy who is promising but not proven.
  17. I probably would too but there's no chance in hell I'd throw in our first round pick. I'd rather spend that pick on a guy who can hopefully replace somebody like Bogosian down the road in a few years while still pinning my hopes to Guhle being ready to replace Gorges after his contract expires at the end of next season.
  18. I agree. How did Anaheim get this stable of young, stud defensemen? By drafting them early. Most of them (and I believe all the good ones mentioned in the article except for Manson) were drafted in the first and second round. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/teams/dr00004643.html
  19. I have zero interest in the old and broken Romo but I agree with letting Gilmore walk. Corners command way too much money (the way Running Backs used to before the league wised up and stopped overpaying them) and because of Gilmore's pedigree he's going to get overpaid. I hope someone else overpays him. We should keep Taylor and make a push to end this ridiculous playoff drought.
  20. I think Lehner is an upper decker type of guy.
  21. It's missing political discourse and a prayer for Tom Brady to be stricken with AIDS but now that I've made this post I concur. TRUMP 2016
  22. It's good, but Cy Hgsn is still my favorite.
  23. Is this anything like Cony Hotdog and his infamous workouts with Gary Roberts? Those definitely paid off.
  24. I agree about Connolly. He had the potential to be great but injuries derailed his career. There's nothing all that blue collar about Buffalo either anymore, unless the people who get paid to fry up all the chicken wings for everybody are now considered blue collar jobs. What percentage of the population in WNY actually works in a blue collar job? A bunch of people who work in the healthcare industry or perform the duties of an IT weenie doesn't exactly scream hard hats, lunch pails, or blue collar work ethic like some Bruce Springsteen song. Rooting for multiple ###### teams doesn't make anyone blue collar either. A bunch of bankers and lawyers looking down their noses at someone else's upbringing isn't exactly blue collar. It's unjustified reverse snobbism if that's even a real word. .
  25. They paid for their tickets so they can boo all they want.
