  1. Isn't he 100 now? Time for a 7 year $50 million deal. Get it done, Terry.
  2. Saw on some online article about what's coming and leaving for Netflix that F is for Family will release season 2 on May 30th. If you're a fan of comedian Bill Burr or have nostalgia for the 70's you should definitely watch it. Season 1 was only six 30 minute episodes so you can easily watch the first season before starting the new season. Funny as hell. I also started watching a relatively new show called Trial and Error. I think it normally airs on NBC but I've been watching season 1 on Hulu. It stars John Lithgow and he's on trial for murdering his wife. Dark comedy gold but I love John Lithgow so I may be biased.
  3. I just want to see Reinhart stay and get time at center. My only untouchables would be Eichel, Reinhart, Ristolainen, and McCabe. Everyone else is available for the right price. I'd prefer to see the aging vets put out to pasture while the younger guys and prospects get the chance to move up as well.
  4. Technically yes. He produced more for his team.
  5. I didn't like the O'Reilly trade at the time and he'll definitely be overpaid as he starts approaching 30, but he's not a problem now or for his next several seasons. Luckily they front loaded his deal big time as well so when he does start to decline it shouldn't be difficult to unload him to a team that needs a center and a contract to get above the floor. The bigger problems with respect to players who aren't worth what they earn are Moulson, Ennis, Gorges, and Bogosian.
  6. Only if you assume Eichel would have maintained the same GPG and APG stats had he played more games. Based on the way he finished the season, that's a generous assumption. In reality has only had 4 more assists than Matthews which is where Freeman got his vernacular from. Eichel's a great player and he's got one of the best shots in the league. We don't know who will ultimately end up the better player, but to try to contort and twist logic to pretend that he had a better season than Matthews using the Tim Connolly system of extrapolation due to injury doesn't make it so.
  7. Sounds like the next GM of the Sabres.
  8. It's definitely a straw man because there's no way to know who else we could have had at center but after 7/1/07 we spent the better part of a decade devoid of center talent and tanking ensured we have quality centers for the next decade in all liklihood. Eichel is no McDavid but finishing last ensured having to "settle" for Eichel while also giving the best odds to get McDavid. I'm still happy with the decision. I'm still convinced that a possession minded coach coupled with fixing the blue line would result in a contending team within the next couple of seasons. There's only one way to really find out though.
  9. To ignore the O'Reilly trade, the tank was still worth it in my eyes. I'd rather have Eichel and (maybe one day when DB is gone) Reinhart as our top centers than Tyler Ennis, Cy Hgsn, and Zemgus Girgensons.
  10. There's still no need to buy out Gorges. He's only got one more year on his contract. Send him down to Rochester and have him available as an injury call up and then he's no longer a problem after next season. We're not in any danger of going over the cap for next year so why not take the full hit while we're easily able to absorb it?
  11. You are seriously missing out. It's got to be one of the top 10 shows ever made.
  12. I'd rather have Ullmark in Rochester than watching Lehner perform poorly in all the back to backs again next year. If DB is show the door though, my answer may change.
  13. I'm assume he's going to try to force Jimmy McGill to stop being a lawyer. Jimmy will weasel out of it by wording it to never again practice law under the McGill name and boom, Saul Goodman is officially born.
  14. Wasn't sure if you'd fully appreciate the reference since you don't watch Trailer Park Boys. One of these days when you have some spare time you've gotta check it out. All 11 seasons, 3 or 4 movies, and several live shows are available on Netflix. I'd recommend starting with the first movie (called Trailer Park Boys the Movie). Even though it technically takes place after season 3 of the show (give or take I can't remember) it will give you the best overview of the show with about 90 minutes of time investment.
  15. I'd say yes, especially if we can get Hischier. I know the Q doesn't have the same reputation as the other major junior leagues up there, but those Halifax Moosehead players seems to do alright in the NHL. Plus it would make NS happier than a shirtless Randy with a lifetime supply of cheeseburgers.
  16. Do you really think he's on some road to perfection? You're starting to approach hero worshipping status.
  17. I know, that's why I said I was being old and curmudgeonly in my initial post on the subject. Message boards are the closest thing to social media I use, but at least I'm not stamping my real name on all my crazy ramblings for employers to possibly discover should I ever find myself looking for a new job. That would suck. With my luck I'd be interviewing for a great job and the guy I'm interviewing with would be some sort of Evangelical Conservative. And I know that I could always sign up to be @Drunkard666 or however it works, but like I said before google works for me so I don't need it. Not everything, but I'm not doing research for a Ph.D on particle physics or trying to win a Nobel prize. It has everything I need it for though, whether it's where player X signed and the contract he signed, sports standings and scores, midget porn, or who the chick with the big knockers was on last night's episode of whatever.
  18. Except I have google on my phone and my computer just like everyone who uses twitter has it on their phone and computers. With a library you're having to go to a different location and you're looking up (sometimes) old information that was previously printed by someone. Newer doesn't always mean better. Google is just as current as twitter plus it encompasses everything on twitter plus everything that isn't on twitter. It has it all.
  19. I don't know how to use it because I've never tried but I understand the basic concept, I just really have no need for it. I have no desire to stalk celebrities or hang on some famous person's every word or any of that crap and if I'm looking for information about something specific I can easily find it elsewhere. I can type whatever into a google search and even if the answer I'm looking for is on twitter, it will show up there in some article and I can still read the tweet without having an account. I'm glad people on this board use it and then race to be the first to share the info here, but you're all still 14 year old girls, ha ha!
  20. Even if that somehow was the case, that's no excuse to sign a 30 year old Free Agent to a 5 year deal. Hell we could have paid him the same money over 3 years and we'd be done with him right now. Or something more reasonable like $18 million over 3 years.
  21. Twitter is for 14 year old girls and insane politicians. I think my old is showing though, even though I'm not even 40 yet.
  22. My biggest worry is still that DB was Terry's hire and TM doesn't have the authority to fire him or hire his replacement. The hire still reeks of Pegula's Pittsburgh fetish.
  23. Sounds like the calm before the storm of antics to me.
  24. I would love for him to get peppered with questions about why he's keeping DB and for him to finally get fed up defending him and let it slip that he can't fire him because Terry won't sign off on it. Maybe some public shaming would get the ball rolling on what needs to be done. Even if it doesn't that would still be funny as hell to watch.
  25. Exactly. The sad thing is both guys basically amounted to what we got for trading Pominville. Pretty underwhelming to look at it now, although I guess it did set up the relationship with Minnesota where we send them our pending UFA's for their upcoming playoff run and they send us their second round picks for 10 years.
