I think you have to be over 35 to sign a contract like that and Vanek is younger than that.

Ranking the Sabres: who are our most valuable assets?
Drunkard replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I think Reinhart is definitely next, especially considering how dirt cheap he is right now. After that I'd say McCabe. -
I thought that was it. I bought a few of those for my girlfriend a few years back from fanatics or fansedge or one of those websites (Sabres and Bills ones) but I wasn't 100% sure.

This. The only saving grace for a man bun is that it can be "fixed" in like 2 seconds by removing the rubber band, scrunchy, or whatever the thing is that is used to make the bun is called.

Nice cover. Should keep the heat off of you ....... for now at least.

Exactly. Edmonton was good. If it wasn't for their goalie getting hurt (and most of our defense) they might have won the cup the year Carolina lucked into it. If we had let them poach Vanek they may have also been able to somehow keep Pronger and Spacek and their team may not have turned into the tire fire they eventually turned into. With so many moving parts there's no way to know for sure.

I think the real question is why do you keep pictures of turkey saved on your computer.

He's not a 50 point player yet. Hopefully after this season he will be (or more). -
I really don't care that he didn't play his hardest at the end of the season when we were already eliminated from playoff contention (at that point I wanted a better draft pick anyway). I'll continue to bring it up whenever I see the constant ball washing of him and what a great competitor he supposedly is though. The excuses are endless. Bad coaching, the pressure of living up to the high expectations placed on him. Even his injury was used for how he ended the season despite the fact that he was on quite a tear when he first came back, so it's a case of it not affecting him then it affecting him again conveniently when the playoff hopes were extinguished. They excuse stuff because of all the pressure on him in one breath then argue he should be captain and have even more pressure on his shoulders in the next breath. That was a tongue in cheek comment in response to the idea that we must lock him up for 8 years because we're not going to be truly ready until the back end of his deal. If we're not ready now (or soon), we're sure as hell not going to be ready when Kane is gone, O'Reilly is 30, Okposo is 32, and we have limited space to make improvements because Eichel is earning $10 million and Reinhart is earning $6 million.

For a guy who supposedly hates to lose (it's gets repeated around here ad nauseum) he sure seemed to phone it in down the stretch when we lost 5 of our last 6. Where was all this hating to lose when those losses were piling up and he was looking disinterested? I know DB was a total anchor but that was still an opportunity to put some action behind the empty talk. Also, if we're not ready to compete in the next year or two we might as well re-tank and start selling off guys like Kane, Okposo, O'Reilly, and Pominville now before they turn into pumpkins like Moulson already has.

You're getting food and drinks though. If you look at it that way the games are actually free. $300 is a ton of money to watch 30 minutes of game action and 30 minutes of nonsense wrapped in 2 hours of commercials. I used to get the short cuts and they can literally show you every single play in less than 30 minutes. Especially when I only care about the Bills. I don't go out of my way to watch Green Bay beat up on the Raiders or all the other games I really don't care about. I don't do the fantasy football thing so I have no interest in watching random games of teams I care nothing about because I need some random tight end to get 37 more yards in order for me to defeat my buddy from high school or some random office coworker. Fantasy football is just another way for the league to get its hooks into you.
-
I'm done giving them my money for sure. If they don't give it to me for free, I'll stream it. If I can't do that I won't watch. I don't need the aggravation or the hous of commercials.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch

We should bring back Presidential portraits too. Why snap a picture in seconds when you can waste hours/days/weeks having the President stand still while they capture his the essence with a brush. It's not like the leader of the free world has anything better to do. -

Makes sense. I guess he's the hipster of film directors. Does he require all the artists who submit songs for the movie soundtrack to put them on vinyl as well? Does he wear the old style MC Hammer type director pants too? -
I was just looking at my directv account online. Even though my new statement hasn't officially posted yet, I can still see the upcoming charges for my next statement tomorrow under the recent activity section. Looks like my bill dated for July 25th will have an auto charge of $46.99 for Sunday ticket, plus $3.29 in taxes. That means without any discounts the package is $281.94 without taxes and $301.68 this year with the added 7% taxes for my state. $300 for the privilege of watching the Bills stink up the joint again. Not happening. I think I'm gonna see what kind of deal they'll be willing to cut me with the Sunday Ticket still on there in order to hold that $300 charge over their heads and then cancel Sunday Ticket in a separate call.

Why the hell are they still using old style film to begin with? -

It'll be Eichel until he signs his $10 million per season deal. At that point he'll become an overpaid bum whose cap hit is crippling the team's ability to be competitive and all of Buffalo's blue collar, hard hat, lunch pail, type people will scorn him for his greed and we'll move on to worship the great Casey Mittelstadt, even though we can't seem to even spell his name right. -

Right now it's Eichel, then Reinhart, then McCabe based on how productive they are compared to how little they earn. That may change once they sign new deals though. -
The juice is loose. I think Starburst has it's next commercial.

You're not paying for it over 12 months though. At best they break it down into 4 or 6 payments and it starts close to when the season starts (They usually start charging for Sunday ticket in August and Center Ice in September or October). Since football and hockey start in the fall you're getting hit with both charges at the same time (at least in October, November, and December). I think most people can agree that it's getting way too expensive. I threaten to cancel my directv every year around mid to late August when my 1 year contract ends and despite getting big discounts in exchange for renewing for another year I still feel like I pay too much. I haven't had Center Ice for several years and I'm ditching Sunday Ticket this year. Having both would give me a bill in excess of $200 come October. Instead I'll pay around 70 without either package (if they cut me the same $50 off/month for 12 month deal they cut me last year) or I'll cancel service and just stick with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and illegal streams. On top of that I pay 50 per month to Spectrum for 60 MBPS internet.
-
It will get there soon enough. Sunday Ticket already runs close to it (6 payments of like 45 bucks or so) and Center Ice used to run about $160 (4 payments of 40 bucks) the last time I paid for it 4 or 5 years ago. I'm not sure about NBA or MLB but I imagine they fall somewhere in between the NHL and NFL with prices going up each year faster than regular inflation rates. I can remember having directv bills north of 200 dollars (not including internet) during months where I was paying for subday ticket and center ice at the same time. And that was years ago. It's probably even more expensive now.
-
Eichel can do it. He's always got a few extra minutes each day since he doesn't have to comb his hair.
-
It was less than twenty. They won back to back with Reggie Jackson in the late 70's and started winning again in the mid-90's. Seems like the only good player that had during that time (the bad years) was Don Mattingly, then they forced him to retire. As soon as that happened I became as Mets fan. I think the only reason they stunk is because I was a fan. I was born in 1981 and they won it all the year I stopped rooting for them. My fandom is the kiss of death for any sports team. Bills Sabres Mets (after 1986) Knicks (after Willis Reed and his titles) Pretty much batting 0 for a lifetime. Which is a big part of why I've decided to quit giving them my money (no tickets, merchandise, or Sunday Ticket, Center Ice, etc).

Yep. We should side with the group that's even richer than the players who also hold cities hostage for tax breaks and subsidies to fun their extravagant arena's by threatening to move to a new city that provides more freebies. Richer than rich but they always need a little more.

That guy didn't have the awesome aura of Casey Mittelstadt though. His tears can cure cancer ...... to bad he's never cried. He once walked down the street with a ....... there were no survivors. He's like the love child of Tedy Bruschi and Chuck Norris.
